Do you like the Barracuda in fastback or notchback?

Notchback

I've really grown to love the '67-'69 Barracuda notchbacks and I recently spotted a '67 that I might try to buy but here lately the fastback look is really starting to grow on me. Which do you like best? Do you think one is more valuable/desirable to the general public than the other?

I swiped a couple pics off Ebay to help you choose. :2thumbs:

71ChallengeHer

I like the notchback. :2thumbs: I think the fastbacks are prolly more desirable. But I just prefer the look of the notchback.

If I had to own one........it would be a convertible.   I don't like any of them actually, sorry.  Hope you still love me in the morning  :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big:

fastbacks... don't like that looooong trunk lid view... almost looks like a hood. In fact that is what makes different the Charger from the rest... Longer sail/C pillar, roof line or what ever you calls, almost a fastback look

Fastback only. I had a '67 notchback and it was hideous. It looked like a half-hearted attempt at pinching a turd.  :D
Malicious, vindictive, spiteful, cynical, pessimistic, sarcastic, & antagonistic. And those are my good traits!

Old Moparz

I think the fastback is nicer, I don't like the roof line on the notchback. I did have a ragtop though, the way it looks with the top down is cool.

   great pics thanks!!!
i like the way the trunk line comes up to the rear window on the Fastback, they are pretty simple and the fastback roof looks right, spices it up and helps the proportions,.. very graceful, the grill reminds me alot of the Pontiac GTOs of the same year '67,.. the notchroof looks goofy to my eye...  :scope:
a few yrs back a coworker had an extreamly cherry and bone stock original notchback white/black 318 console car he sold for $3,200,.. I just wasn't into it enuff to take it on... if it was a fastback i would have probably bought it myself...

i'd like more pics please...  :drool5:

so Bull, what are your plans/ideas?.. perhaps a photoshop rendering?.. eh?.  :shruggy:

Have to be the Fastback, I never really warmed up to the notchback at all.

After looking at these pics, I'm gonna go with the fastback model as my favorite.

Here are some '69's.

Notchback, any day anytime. Fastbacks look like a rip off from Mustangs. Sorry. I have a '68 Notch, and yeah, I'm prejudice, however I had my choice when I got mine. If I wanted a "Fastback" I would have gone to the Ford camp. Convertibles second.

I'm just thinking out loud. I recently found a notchback on a side road here in Portland that I thought I might make a play for but then my opinion on the matter changed recently. I think seeing this car really changed it for me. I like the colors, stripes and the rake. I wish I could own it. :yesnod:

Fastback.  Definitely fastback.  A buddy and I did have a notchback dirt track once but if I were to buy one for the street I'd look for a fastback or droptop.

I believe those pics were swiped from the Hamtramck-historical site from the 2003 Mopar European Nationals show.

Nacho-RT74

even normally Britain license plates are yellow, the longer number ones look to be Britanic and shorter numbers Aussie.

however all could it be really Aussie since as Far I know Chrylser didn't have assembly plant on GB, for a while Australlia does or did, all A bodies plattform, and those 2nd gen Barracudas are A bodies.

I did swipe them, heh, here is the link, I found again, yes, you are right, it does say Mopar European Nationals, the site has a few other pics from other places,  here are a couple from usa, do the Europeans have some nicer ones in the site?

first one is  Mopar At Thunder Mountain - May 7, 2006 - Bandimere Speedway,
second one is Ketchikan, Alaska, November 16th, 2006

Here is the website for Hamtrack with all the photos,

Crazy Larry

This movie sealed it for me - the fast back in all its glory was really amazing on screen - its a shame they went through three of them and all the spare hoods, fenders, and doors in the northeast to make the movie. You can always judge a car by the way it still looks great even after its been busted up and in a few car chases - Bullit Charger, Vanishing Point challenger, Mad Max Falcon, and Highwaymen Barracuda

To me, when done up right, the Fastback looks Fast just sitting still.

I like a lot this one:

Hey, do you know anything about who owns that car or where that picture is from?   I think I know the guy who owns that car, in Seattle, that pic might be the Mopar show from around here.  He showed me the cars he has in his garage and that one is in there.  I think he is interested in selling it actually.
