Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

For those who couldn't make it to the event, it turned out nice enough despite the threat of rain throughout Saturday.  We did get the track laps in both days, with 10 cars participating on Saturday and 13 on Sunday.  I know I have a penchant for Aero cars to begin with, but it is just downright cool to see these cars out on the track and "in their element".  Thank you to those folks who were able to participate, whether or not you had an Aero car - as usual I met a bunch of folks from various forums and came home wishing I'd have had more time to spend chatting with everyone.

There was a fella that recently retired from Chrysler that was taking professional-quality pictures of the cars out on the track - some of which are going to be used in an upcoming newsletter/magazine article (not sure where).  I spoke with him on Sunday after the show was over, and he promised to mail me a DVD of the 100+/- pictures he took both Saturday and Sunday of the cars while they were out on the Track.  Saturday he was in the pace car, but on Sunday he took pictures from Pit Road as the cars came down the frontstretch.  More than a few of the pictures turned out awesome, according to the photographer.  He said we could use the pictures however we wanted to for free, but I was figuring it'd be better to pay him at least a little something for burning a bunch of discs for us.  There were shots of most (if not all) cars individually, plus many shots of the cars on the banking and "in formation".

Anyone else interested in getting a copy of these pictures besides me?   :scratchchin:

Thanks for posting those pictures, Allen!  It was great meeting you and looking at all the old pictures you brought.  Glad you made the trek up from Ft. Worth, and I sure hope it was a good weekend for you.

Hopefully you won't wait another 25 years before making it back to St. Louis for a car show   :icon_smile_big:

69_500

Hey Gene, as you can imagine I'd say count me in to get a copy of those pictures. Let me know how much you need for them.

Your welcome for the ride there Allen. Heck I offered to let ya drive, so that I could hang out the window and take some photo's. Maybe next time.

You'll have to excuse me but I really don't recall the fellow's name who was in the back seat on Sunday. And I'm not talking about Troy, I know him.

Gene, it was an absolutely excellent weekend for me... well worth the long drive and the pesky rain we endured!  Many thanks to YOU,Troy, Rich, Danny, Brent, and the other Charger & Aero Car folks who I met and thoroughly enjoyed talking to!!!  It was also great to meet Harry Lee Hyde & Jim C. and see Scott S. & Dave H. again after all those years... amazingly, we had not aged at all!  :icon_smile_wink:

NO... I am not waiting another 25 years to attend another St Louis car show!  I am not sure about next year at this point due to the on-going conflict with a family reunion, but no more than two years... even if I get dis-owned by the family!

BTW, during the 12 hour drive back to Fort Worth... I did a lot of thinking about one of my aero cars... talked to a Paint & Body shop today... stay tuned... :icon_smile_tongue:

Yes, you certainly did offer me the chance to drive your C500... but I was too concerned something could happen to it.  Like I said when you offered, I usually don't drive friend's cars or borrow equipment like trailers... Probably should have accepted your offer this time.  :scratchchin:

I think Scott L.'s friend was Chris ???:shruggy:

You will probably be flooded now with offers to drive your car... who knows, maybe we will both have cars on the track in the next year (or two)...

Hmmmmm,

So Allen which car are you thinking of doing first? By the looks of all the photo's you showed me the Bird looks like a pretty easy go of things, other than the front end. Was it missing the radiator core support? Or was that the other car?

I plan to have the Paint & Body shop look over the Superbird & C500... The Daytona will be a LOT more bigger project than I care to tackle at the moment, so it will be done later.  Mainly thinking abort doing the C500. :shruggy:

Get it done, so I can see it.  ;)

It will be a very nice looking ride once completed. But from the look of things you'd have to move a weeks worth of stuff just to get the car out.
