The price has been lowered again to $147,500.  The car's problems must be turning buyers away.
And how about the white Superbird (160170208791) for a b.i.n. price of $99,500.  Not perfect by a long shot but still a nice driver.  Looks like the buyers just aren't out there like they once were.  Wasn't the Daytona priced even lower in one of the earlier eBay listings?

with the current market, I think many investors are just gun shy about sticking there money in old cars and I don't know about the rest of you but I speak for at least one guy that just loves these cars, 99k is simply out of reach financially.  now at 50 or even 60 K I would be mortgaging property and selling off toys to own one of these

there trying to get 99k for cars that are not matching #s or  need work . where at the bj auction 3 birds sold for between 95 to 105k . fully restoed and matching #s . the market has cooled and the sellers don't want to except that. Rene

i would think that most people selling aren't the ones who've had the cars for more than a couple years, and therefore have a lot in them.  it's a lot different to sell a car like ours that cost $2400 for $85K than someone who paid at least that much a few years ago.

(our cars are absolutely not for sale--for any price.  let's make that perfectly clear.)

I'm always glad to know that there are still a few people who wouldn't consider selling their cars for any amount.

It was lowered again to $139,995 and still no sale by end of auction.

pettybird

i'm really amazed by that...my friend thinks he knows the car's been rebodied, though--anyone have more on that, proof otherwise, or anything else?

That's not such a bad thing then................unless it has over 100K on it and he don't know or is trying to hide it?

Well, If someone goes to the trouble to change those things, then the whole car has and it's authenticity has to be questioned

69_500

I don't think that I've seen anyone mention the mileage has been altered. Just that doug pointed out that the car had 109K on it back in the 80's. It has more than likely changed hands several times since then, and the newest owner is probably unaware that it has rolled over the 100K mark. And figures that with it being in the current condition that it isn't a 100+K car.

Wow now would make a difference. I wonder if it was passed on to him not knowing that info?

Im not (sure) but this might be the Daytona that has had the radiator support top cross yoke that has the Vin on it replaced and a less than correct vin restamped on it . I think the car is the original body  though . the yoke vin was causing speculation that it was a rebody .
