Let's post a picture with these eBay links - 90 days from now no one will be able to pull up the auction no matter whether it's for the neatest Daytona ever or a toy like this.

Interesting pictures, Dave - no reason you still can't do a thread on that subject.

Thanks toDave for posting this thread.  I'm gonna win it!!!!!!!

I got a few..........too many. I kinda got out of control till I got my other garage built a few years ago. Just an investment. I collected lots of different kinds. The room is so full now it is no fun to go into anymore. I bought a couple Kasey Khane last year but Im done for now. None for sale now but as the resto drains me this is what will be liquidated  :icon_smile_tongue:

This site used to be about building cars not childish garbage !!!!!!!!!!Mama , I want toys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IT's also about people who enjoy different aspects of the hobby!   There are SEVERAL model builders who are members of the board here, and I betcha a LOT more than you think collect Dieccast and "toys" as part of their hobby.

BTW you would probably be VERY surprised at just WHO collects model cars and toy cars, especially replicas of their OWN car.

And you'd also be VERY surprised to find out just what a custom built model car can cost you. Some of the prices on some of these "toys" are staggering.

Some are cool just to have because you enjoy them.

I personally think spending buckets of money to race a boat is goofy,  I wouldn't give you any one of my built model cars for a stinking boat, I have NO use for one
but to each his own.  If that is your thing, go for it! I Sure as he!! wouldn't have sold a nice Daytona project for one.

I agree. Some idiots collect high dollar paintings and other things that are worthless to me. If you watch what you buy you can make an investement out of toys, diecast etc. I have lots a Petty cars. If I do sell them 10 years from now I can build another car. I bet there has a toy that sold on eBay worth more than some race boats........... so yeah to each thier own.

It wasn't that long ago I remember seeing a 1969 Hotwheel sell for something like $6,500 on Ebay. That was for a single car.
