Just came across it today.

What a sweet ride :drool5:

Seems to be undergoing a resto here:

Look under restorations and click on the Daytona to see the progress!

They make it awful hard to view those pictures don't they? Or at least I couldn't get the bottom half of the page to enlarge to view the entire photo without scrolling down and up.

It'll be nice to see that beauty of a Daytona come together...

Call me odd, but I wish it was still the same as when it left Dave's. I know it wasn't the prettiest, but there was plenty to take in and enjoy the details.

Beep Beep Dave

I agree. Personally I would have got all the mechanicals done, cleaned up the best I could and then drive.
I bet it would get more atttention unrestored than restored.

Thanks Dave for the pics. I would of got it running and then drove it as-is....unless the frame rails were rusty then I would restore it. :Twocents:

And just think for $350k one of us can own it.  They have been advertising the car in the Autotrader up here since they got it.  I emailed to see what they were asking for it when completed and $350K was the answer.

No strucural rust just the usual in the trunk and around the backwindow. Most of the rust was from being in less than a carport type garage on the east coast. But it was a untouched 22K mile car.Still retained all factory equipment down to the hoses belts exhaust system spark plug wires etc etc .I changed out the champion J11Ys.And changed the maintence items oil and antifreeze and bypassed the original fuel pump that leaked. With a mini electric one .And nothing much anything else.Thats what the pink fuel pump wire going to fusebox is showing on the interior shot at the resto shop. And the day the buyer came he started it up and drove it up on the trailer

As soft as the market is now, I doubt they'll get that kind of money for the car. I think it might be a while before the market turns back around. I've seen some pretty good deals on cars lately.

i would totally rock those scat pack decals on my wing...

nascarxx29

Doug those scat pack decals are available from WW member/PCG Dave P who traced those to reproduce when he examined the car in detail he recorded by tracing and photographing many parts of the car and showed me many factory correct details. My original owner told me he got talked into joining the scat pack club. For a newsletter called scat news. You recieve a patch and etc goodies some I still have.He seen a daytona at Kardon motors NJ.And waited for Quaker City dodge to get theirs in. Which all documents show arrived 4-25-70. He stopped using the car as insurance caught up with it not being a regular charger as he led them to believe. He told me intersting tales that he drove that car to Trenton NJ to go see and film races. And was asked you here to race. And got caught speeding with it in some small town. And the cop escorted him directly to the judges house for the fine. His prior mopar car includes a 48-49? town and country conv 60 300 G 77 Imperial 80? Mirada and turbo K car town and country station wagon. He drove the daytona all over NJ  De and Cinn Ohio visiting family. Parked since 1977.Where it was discovered by my longtime car buddy friend Carl who accompanied me there. As we were both hunted down many area cars. And we were led to believe the rumor there was a superbird in a bad part of Camden NJ.Which his job in law enforcement gave him safe access to look out for while on patrol..A area I rarely ventured into. The other superbird that lived one block away was the Don Horrow motors B5 blue 4 speed 6 pack car another guy I later met ended up with.Thats my old cars life story .It will start a new life and history when restoration is complete

$350K once done? Your kidding right? It had better be the nicest restored Daytona anywhere for that kind of a figure. I doubt it will be though.

Moparmatty

No joke.  That's what they told me.  And just think, that's Canadian bucks too.  You can now add roughly 8% to that figure to get you USD amount.  LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What happened to the good old days when $100K Canadian was like $85K US.  :icon_smile_wink:

Thankfully they are gone for the time being.   :2thumbs:

I think the orig owner wanted side markers because the car is a land Yacht!!! I converted my orig makers to LED lighting !!!!but they look stock , not a hack job !!!!!

nascarxx29

My original owner had someone install 70 marker lights. To replace reflectors. When a daytona is making a turn. The only lights are behind the nose grill
