I need a 1024x768 or larger resolution true side view picture of a 1969 Charger 500, passenger side is preferred but either will work.

Thanks in advance,

Allen

Where would you like this photo sent to? And what color combination would you like?  :nana:

69_500

How about a 3,200x2,600 photo? Let me know what car you woud prefer it of, and I'll see how many I have a straight on passenger side shot of.

69_500

Here is one just to think about.

I don't think I take too awful many that are actually a straight on shot of the passenger side that show the entire car. Most photo's turn out better when taken at angles to the front or rear of a car. But I do take some odd ball ones every once in a while.

B5 Blue with black interior comes to mind for some reason... but actually the color is not important in this case.  :icon_smile_wink:

I thought you might just have one or two laying around Danny...

Thanks,

I am looking for one that shows the outline of the C500 to base some artwork off of...

I have a cable ISP connection, so the larger the better!

Hmmmm, I don't think that I have personally shot any photo's of a B5 blue car with black interior in that resolution. Not since I bought a digital camera in the past 4 years. Not that I can think of. I do have plenty of Al Blakes car that I shot with a 35mm though. He would be a better one to ask though for a B5 blue black interior shot from the side.

another but this time my car.

Thats close to what I need... Did you take the same shot kneeling down?  Even drawn artwork would work... maybe even better.

Thanks again for looking!

If you want a straight on side shot does it need to be a 500?

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Not really, I just wasn't sure if the rear window differences were visible from the side.  I have not settled on a concept, but I could add in any visible C500 differences if I needed to.  I might even leave the C500 stripe when I do the artwork, but I am not sure...

If you have the picture in a 1969 (or 1968) Charger, send it!  :2thumbs:

I was standing up taking the picture of my car in my driveway. The only one where I was kneeling was the one of the Red 500 at Carlisle.

Any hints on what your intending to do with the picture? I'm nosey. If you want I'll pull the 500 out of the garage tomorrow when I get home, take about 15-20 shots straight on from the passenger side and send them to you.

No need to go through that much trouble, I think I will just buy one of the "spec sheets" off of eBay... another trinket for the display.

As for the intended purpose (hey, where is the "nosey" smiley  :icon_smile_wink: ), one of my Winter projects is to make display artwork for the C500 (kind of premature I guess, seeing as the car has not even arrived at the paint & body shop yet).  One of the items will be a sign with a custom logo incorporating the C500's new name.

Although the latest concepts look a lot different, this first rough hand-drawn sketch on a post-it note shows the general idea...

There... you forced my secret out of me...  :P

I would have scanned that in for you, if you wanted. I think I have about 4-5 copies of it laying around here, heck I would have even given ya one.

69_500

The only bad thing is that I'm having to shrink these pictures to 18% to be able to post them, so if you want the full sized version of any of them, just let me know which one. Each one is usually 3.5-4.2 meg per photo. So it would fill up an inbox on email pretty fast.

One more that I've found so far.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but what color is that car? Looks like F6, but hard to tell with the shadows. Any more pictures of that car??!?!

69_500

Car is painted F6 green, however as we know it wasn't available at the time of production, its not the origional color of the car. I have about 10 of that car, but mostly video footage, as i shot about 15 minutes of video of that car.

hemigeno

I'm still wondering if it was not at least mathematically possible for a C500 to have been painted F6 Green, although if one ever surfaces you'll probably be among the first to find out about it.  The engineering paperwork does show that it would have been in production sometime after November 6th - but there may not have been enough time for someone to phyiscally enter an order in for a C500 with a new color like that.

:shruggy:

No matter what, they do look good in that color.

69_500

I agree, it should be possible by everything I've seen. However I've never ran into one, and everyone I've asked said they didn't make any in that color. But if you placed an order on say November 10th, then your car would be built probably in the next 4-6 weeks, which puts it around December 16-19th, which would be the last days of production for the 500's.

Mike DC

I'd love to get a straight-on shot of any '68-69 Charger if it's truly straight/even/big.

I think the best way to do it would be to get the camera about level with the door handle or so, and get the camera physically WAY-Y-Y back from the car and zoom way back in on the car to compensate.  It would flatten out a lot of the fisheye perspective problems that come in when you try to shoot a side-view when the camera is relatively close to the object.

69_500

Technically speaking the lens would have its best capacity to capture the true clarity of an object being photographed at its smallest point, so zooming in would technically negate some of the clarity capabilities of a lens. Your right though the best way would be to get back to where you can get the entire vehicle in the shot, and mount the camera on a tripod. Best resolution would be on a camera that is capable of being set with an ISO of 100, and I'd stay away from any lens that is smaller than 17mm. When you get into the 14-16mm lens they get the fisheye look.

Mike DC

I just mean in terms of the angle issues in general, not really specifically a "fisheye" problem.

If you're doing a shot that's basically a side-view in the schematic sense, then even just a natural amount of perspective issues from being a couple yards away from the vehicle is already an annoyance.  I think flattening out the image (with being distant and zooming in on the car) is probably more relevant in this case than sqeezing out every last scrap of resolution with a closer-up take.
