Larry,

Either cut the comments out or cut out period (from this forum).  Why do you think that you can get away with whatever you want??

No one says you have to like sunroofsuperbird's project or concept, but either act civil or hit the road.

Do I need to make it any more plain for you??

Thanks for taking up for me geno. but he did smile  It don't bother me if someone don't like my cars. I just like them different. I catch flack all the time about my 4x4 69 R/T Charger and the 71 R/T Challenger wagon about how much they would be worth back stock. Yea May be worth more but not to me then they are just like everyone else's. and thats not for me. I am use to it.

Is there any way I can get pics of the Wagon?? I have seen it before but not a very good pics of it.  I think the chally wagon is very cool.  Is it a REAL R/T? and just out of curiosity, If it is.  How come you used a real R/T and not just a 318 car or something?   I think it is cool.  I get sick of seeing all the same old e-bodys.
I'm smarter than I act, But I don't act smarter than I am.

daytonalo

You know I like your work , just dont like a Daytona turned into a 4x 4!!! It had nothing to do with your car , but I had to go !!

dads_69

Hey Marty, can you post a photo of your challenger wagon again? I want to show my boss, he doesn't believe me. I used to have photos of it stored on my old computer, but they are long gone. Should be interesting to see a Daytona clone 4x4 flying down the highway at 80 mph. I can see peoples reaction now, WTH is that!? ha-ha.
Thanks Mark
Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

i think the daytona 4x4 is a cool idea! i would do it if i had a rotted out shell with a bad frame.  better than crushing it. and that challenger wagon is so different, it's cool too.  i think it's great you take your cars and do something different with them. i am all about not being the norm.. after all they are YOUR cars.. one day i will build a 4x4 charger.. even if it's just a roller lawn ornament

It should be safe up there from fender benders :icon_smile_big:We had a 4X4 71 purple challenger ragtop intown I got pictures of it to find.On a ramcharger frame. It got terrible mileage.Hard to judge where your front end ended to the car infront of you.A chaffed your back from bouncing but was a big hit on brice road at the nats.A 4X4 repair shop bought. And used it for a while as customer loaner car.It got sold and restored ground up and is one nice regular showing winning 71 challenger convertible again.Ive seen a purple challenger station wagon at carlisle.Had a vista cruiser roof and a AMC back hatch I think

I'm not a fan of the jacked up Daytona as I'm not a fan of the jacked up car thing...Then again I don't want a TRUCK that far off the ground!  I like my low CG's!  Just a little too far north of the Mason-Dixon, methinks.

Now, stretching that frame a bunch and stuffing it under that BUS would kick ASS.

Ok the challenger--is that a clamshell wagon back?  It's amazing how integrated it looks--did you cut out the seatback/trunk area, or leave the rear for cargo only?

nascarxx29

Im thinking sunroof superbird must had one of these. When he was a kid and got inspired :yesnod:

Yes that is my purple Challenger wagon. yes it is a real R/T SE big block car. now it had the olds vista cruiser roof added in 1974 so it was just a used car then. it is just roof part only added still has orig challenger quarters and tail panel tail lights. I added a gremlin rear hatch so you could get into the trunk area for added trunk space  :yesnod: . I will add a pic later tonight of it when i bought it from the guy that built it. you guys will get a kick out of it. It  was a superbird R/T challenger wagon ?  ::) I didn't like the nose so it is gone now. But I do still have it so I can put it back on later  :smilielol: Yea right. The other challenger wagon believe it or not is a real R/T also 340 car just has flat hood on it now. it has been done many years also. I don't care for it as much as the back of that car has been cut off and a Monaco wagon rear clip was added just to wide for car and I don't think it fits right. I have heard it was sold a few years ago and was being restored back orig now  :shruggy: I would still have left it as is because it is very different and has been that way forever. at least if they change it back it will make mine 1 of 1 instead of 1 of 2 and make it worth alot more at Barrett jackson  :smilielol:

Any pictures of the challenger wagon wearing a superbird nose.Thats sounds neat .I have a magazine I think it was motor trend where they showed artist renderings all what certain cars would look like as a station wagons. It had the challenger trans am etc in it .I rembered seeing the station wagon conversion offered by Ecklers corvette catalog for the corvette .But for no other car.I used to wonder why no one took a 4 door and did a superbird 4dr or stretch limo.Or put a charger front clip on a b body wagon. There was been wagons converted to 2 doors. But no wagon trimmed down to a elcamino with a wing over the tail gate and unique front end.Maybe dayclona will cross this line and build some cool customs down the line

How about a 'bird wagon?  Put a 'bird front end on a 70 satellite wagon, get one of those fiberglass wings, cut it down to about 6' tall, and put it on the back of the wagon, after eliminating the luggage rack.   :scratchchin:

we use to put those olds vista cruiser roof on vans in the 70's before they had raised roofs for vans . Rene

My punishment for not starting on my wife's bird clone fast enough was having to buy her a new Dodge Daytona pickup. She had to have something with a wing on it.  ;D

I'm not sure that would qualify around my place.  Then again, she may prefer a new truck to an old wing car. :shruggy:

As a somewhat related aside, do those new Daytona pickups come in a 4X4?

80's Nissan Pulsar NX's had a factory wagon back option instead of the rear hatchback.

Quite the collecton sunroofsuperbird, I personally always wanted to build an old dodge van from the 60's into a 4x4. I drove my dads old 61 econoline for years, the turning radius is amazing. These old vans would make excellent construction vehicles, my 97 ram ext. cab  long box needs 40 acres to turn.

Hate to nitpick, but there were no JS coded 340 Challenger R/T's in '70.  I wish cause that would make mine one.   :icon_smile_wink: '71 is the only year for R/T 340 Challengers.

Back in the 70s there was an outfit that turned two door Cadillacs into elcaminos. Not sure but I think it was about 1975  and they did a couple hundred of them. They looked pretty decent it wasn't a half-assed  job.
