THE COLONEL

Now that the weather will be good this week, and warm in my cold garage, does anyone know what part of teh brake pedal assembly I need to look at, to get the brake lights off.  Since my booster got rebuilt, and I reattached the brkae pedal assembly, the brake lights stay on. :shruggy:

The brake light switch didn't get knocked out of position on the pedal did it?

Shakey

I'm thinking along the same line as Ghoste is.

Take a look an make sure you're switch is still working properly.

I had to actually take the entire assembly out so they could merry the rod that slides into the back of the booster, so it would already be set when I put it back in.  Are you meaning the switch on the dash board for the headlights?

No.  If you look at Shakey's pic, you'll see a white plastic cylinder with two metal prongs on the end.  That is your brake light switch and it has to be in the correct position to function properly.

Cruise control could be similar but that's definitely a stop light switch in that pic.

I thought should it be more like this:

That could be but the one in my car looks exactly like the one in Shakey's picture.

That is exactly what I have!  Now I have to figure out how to move the pedal back.  Time to play!

Got it done, and took him for a short ride.  I have missed it, and everything seems to work fine as far as I can tell.  I had to bend that plate attached to the plunger very little, and I mean little, but the lights are off.  Now I have to figure out the tension springs and where they go.  Here are my pics of my assembly now.  Anyone know where the springs go from what you see right now?
