Hey guys/gals,

Figured id ask if anyone has tried this penetrating oil? Friend just gave me a can because i have a thermoquad thats rebuilt, but been sitting for quite some time and the secondary plates got a little corroded and were stuck. I managed to get them to move after a few hours with some liquid wrench but they still were not totally free. Sprayed some of this stuff on and within 5 min, it was like brand spankin new. Seems like some really good stuff.

Don't mix it with orange juice though. It tastes like crap.

It was recommended to me to get the bolts loose on a 4-speed A833 transmission shifter mounting plate.  I got the bolts out but they were really difficult.  I was scared I would break off the cast iron bosses or break off the bolts flush.  I applied the Kroil and let it soak for a month periodically reapplying it.  Also used heat on the bosses (gentle heat) then applied rotational force to the bolts while striking them at the same time directly with a hammer.  I don't know if the Kroil is what made the difference but I tried about once a week and they all came loose on the fourth weeks try.  The mill supply where I got the stuff said industrial folks they sell to swear by this stuff.  It is pricey however.  It sure would be interesting to know exactly what is in this stuff.  On the farm, we used to use a mixture of kerosine and motor oil----nothing fancy there.

Not bad, guess ill keep recommending it. So far the stuff has been working great for me.

Anybody ever use Gibbs Brand penetrant? Sounds amazing but it's expensive! http://www.roadsters.com/gibbs/
