The site hasn't been updated since 2003. Is anyone familiar with this car? I  thought that the story was quite interesting.

That's the so-called "Spy Daytona" IIRC.  Here's a link to a thread just over a month ago about the car:

http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,39570.0.html

It went through Mecum in 1/07 and bidding got to $180k, although it didn't sell.  I found the link from Mecum (wasn't working in that thread when I tried it a minute ago), but you might have to sign in to see it through the website.  The car sold in December of last year for +/- $120k.

[EDIT - The car did NOT sell for $120k - the screen capture says that the car is still available]

Here's a screen capture I did:

That car is this one as shown. I have talked to the owner but I beleive it has changed hands - not sure.

How very interesting....in numerous ways:
1.  The CF-18 in the background: I'm pretty sure that very a/c was up here in Cold Lake.
2.  Those pictures look to have been taken at the Airforce Base in MooseJaw, Saskatchewan.
3.  Just this week, I was emailed these pictures, taken in the early 1980's, of a Daytona...in MooseJaw Sask.
4.  See how it all comes together? (Yes, I realize it's not the same car...)
1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S 340 convertible
1968 Dodge Charger R/T 426 Hemi 4 speed
1968 Plymouth Barracuda S/S clone 426 Hemi auto
1969 Dodge Deora pickup clone 318 auto
1971 Dodge Charger R/T 440 auto
1972 Dodge C600 318 4 speed ramp truck
1972 Dodge C800 413 5 speed
1979 Chrysler 300 T-top 360 auto
2001 Dodge RAM Sport Offroad 360 auto
2010 Dodge Challenger R/T 6 speed
2014 RAM Laramie 5.7 Hemi 8 speed

Gotcha.  I did not check out the last Kissimmee auction, and that was where it sold.

3--Daytona saw that car while it was being restored.  FWIW I don't think he was terribly impressed with the work done, and perhaps that affected the sale price some? :shruggy:

It's still an original Daytona and in today's market it's still a good price for what looks like a decent car.
