I built some pretty well modified 225's back in the day.

I don't know of any Aluminum 225's being built, or crate engines these days ?

As for performance parts, try "Clifford", they used to have a ton 'O stuff.  http://www.cliffordperformance.net/

I think Weiand or Offenhauser still might have a 4 bbl Intake ?
http://www.cliffordperformance.net/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CP&Product_Code=45-4500WH&Category_Code=MY

We could get them up around 300 plus H.P. With Big Valves, Mech. Cam, some Compression Etc.
The Head actually flows not bad for what it is.

I don't think the 225 cares about the diffy by itself, other than the total weight break on the car to the heavier 9 3/4 ?
Parasitic rotational is fine ?

My question is why the 225 ?
Unless you have a very light car ?

By the time you modify the 225 to the 300 H.P. range, the Hydrocarbon useage will rival most small V-8's ?

Only wimps wear Bowties !

They were extremely rare back when Chrysler made them.  I think they almost qualify more as a sort of publicly released experiment than an actual production item.  Almost.
One of the big problems as I recall that led to their early withdrawal from production was corrosion.  I'm pretty sure that no one makes a current block for them in any material.

aluminum 225 block.  sounds like a 1962?

Yes and very rare today. As a slant racer I've modified a couple of these for drag'n. And the main draw back with the aluminum block 225 was they were terrible for blowing head gaskets. You can identify one of these blocks by looking right at the side. An aluminum block slant has no freeze pulgs on the side of it.

If anyone wants to build a hyper pak six they better hope they find a clifford hyperpak repop intake. An original hyper pak intake will generally fetch $1000+ :o

To really make one of these babies run. You need a real loose converter and a real deep set of gears  :Twocents:
"Remember when I said this car was death proof? Well that wasnt' a lie-this car is 100%death proof- only to get the benefit of it honey you really need to be sitting in my seat"...

I know there was one down by council grove in a junkyard, but alas i think the guy crushed the car... I have seen a 62 valiant here in Pomona, but have not investigated its powerplant.

With the prices of aluminum the way they are one of those blocks probably could fetch a good price at the scrapper.  An oddball engine thats gonna get hard to find.
