Poll - Any interest in "Remove Before Flight" Key Fobs?

Started by xs29j8Bullitt, September 24, 2008, 05:28:16 PM

Previous topic - Next topic

I have provided a few aerocar owners with "Remove Before Flight" key fobs that I bought at work.  If available again would you buy one or more at about $7.50 including shipping?

Nah... Got enough trinkets!

Yes... Even if I am not sure what a F-22 Raptor is...
3 (13.6%)
Only if the Raptor logo was replaced with an aerocar related logo/wording.
4 (18.2%)
Maybe... Not sure... Want to wait to the last minute before making any decision.
3 (13.6%)
Hell yes! Would want several!

Below is a picture of both sides of the F-22 Raptor key fob... Raptor logo will be different on new order (better I believe, will try to get a picture of the prototype key fob).  I will sketch up a potential aerocar logo/wording...

So, interested?  :popcrn:  :popcrn:  :popcrn:

BTW, the basic F-22 Raptor key fobs would probably be about $5.50 with shipping, the special run of aerocar key fobs would add at least $2 to each due to setup charge and lower quantity...

I like that. If you make them, I'll buy four of them.
I had a larger version that was on the safety pin of my parachute on my Super Comp Dragsters. I accidentally let it go with the last dragster that I sold.

I used to work at the "Circle Bar W" Ranch (aka "Westinghouse Marine Division), and we called our neighboring aerospace company Lockheed "The lazy L". We were slightly competitive...  Northrup Gruman (formally Westinghouse) in Sunnyvale will be hiring soon.... :scratchchin:)

I would rather have one with a wingcar logo on it.  :icon_smile_big:

thats funny i bought one of those ''remove before flight'' key chains years ago when i was still a little kid n i put em on my dads 68 when he had it

I would rather have the car with the wing on it, than the key chain. But then again beggers can't be picky can then?

pettybird

they're a bit tougher to put in your pocket.  something to keep in mind if storage is an issue.

I had thought of that too... makes more sense... BUT, being the aircraft business it would require a Change Order supported by a Business Case Estimator worksheet, approval by 8 change boards... costs would soar & schedules would slip...  :smilielol:  :smilielol:  :smilielol:

I got my hands on a prototype "new" version of the F-22 RBF key fob... looks even better IMO  :coolgleamA:

IF I order a special "Aerocar" version, it looks like the minimum order would be 500 pieces.  Final per unit costs would be determined after the vendor is supplied with artwork, and is partly determined by "stitch count" required by the design.  I have asked for some preliminary pricing information (THANKS for the help Leigh Ann!).  So far the forum "market survey" for the key fobs seems to show potential sales of about 100, so its looking sort of sporty ( I guess I could decorate my Christmas tree with the other 400...  :icon_smile_big: ).

Below are comparison pictures of the new F-22 key fob...

Thanks to everyone who participated in the poll.

I have decided to shelve the "Aerocar" version of the key fob for now... I might still bring it back in the future.  :shruggy:

Given the massive cost over-run in my C500 project & the horrendous beating that I took in my 401K before I bailed out of my "New Titanic" mutual fund, I am suddenly very adverse to risking a couple of thousand $$s on key fobs!

BUT, I will take orders for the "new" design F-22 Raptor key fob when they become available to order... see the picture of the prototype below.  I will start a new thread when the time to order comes...

I totally understand Allen. I'm not pulling any more money out of any of my investments for projects. I've taken a beating myself the last few weeks. That's why I'm trying to sell off a bunch of stuff that's sitting around the shop that I really don't need. Create more room and give me more money for projects at the same time.
I'll order a couple of the fobs when you're ready.
