My 68 Charger parking lights in the front valance go out when I turn my headlights on.When they are just on with parking lights they stay on.When I turn my headlights on they go off.I have tried them when high and low beams are on and they do not work either way.The turnsignals work when the switch is only on parking light, along with the 4 ways. When the lights come on,the front parking lights are gone? PLEASE HELP!!! :brickwall:

NMike

bad ground or a very wierd and bad headlamp switch.

check the wires with the park light on, and then with headlamps on at the valance. if you have power at the valance light then you have a bad ground.

That's exactly what is supposed to happen, in 1968 the parking lights go off when the headlights are on.  Does everything else work properly?

Thank you everyone for all the info. The lights are supposed to go out when the headlights come on.If you want to run the parking lights with the headlights, just run a jumper wire on the back of your switch from the spayed terminal marked (P) for parking to your headlight spayed mark (H)for headlights. This dosent hurt a thing and gives you a new look.
PRETTY COOL!!  Thanks again everyone for all the help!!! :2thumbs:

Welcome to the site.   I kinda laughed when I read your problem as I knew it was correct.  Funny thing is I was just telling someone yesterday how they did certain changes for certain years an I had brought up the 68/69 parking light thing.  Another cool thing is in 69 the side lamps were reflectors but in 70 they light up. I think. :icon_smile_big:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.
