Ask Rick Edwards his Superbird had the red brake drums on it if I recall correctly. I think I might have a photo around here of some unrestored cars with the red paint on them. That is if Jim doesn't beat me to it but I think that one of his Daytona's had the red drum's or maybe it was his bird too.

the petty bird does here, too.

everything without hubcap/steel wheels in 70 should have them.

Mopar John

Here is a picture that was sent to me by Jim ( MAXWELLWEDGE ) on this site of a painted rear drum with runs and all!

The only thing I can think of though is that on a 1969 I'm pretty sure that the entire face didn't get painted. Only about a 2" wide strip around the edge of the front. Oddly enough I can't remember which car I took the photo's of the rear brake drums on so I can't find the folder. Thats what happens when you label folders by VIN's and have 93,532 photo's on a hard drive right?

The drive train is back out of the car ,  the car went back to the body shop for some small spots to be re painted . the fire wall and inner fenders were dull looking .  Mean while the original numbers matching motor  was dropped of in Indy a couple months ago to be rebuilt . He will be picking it up when going to  monster mopar in a little over a week . .  Then the car will have its all numbers matching drive train back in it and completed .

That is what the engineering said Danny - This is what the line worker did. They were all over the map in every year.

so who ran the NACA hood?

Bill Wright's Huntsville based engineering group ran that hood on the Charger 500 prototype race car.   Even more amazing is that the hood still exists!

69_500

So has Wayne got the engine back in his 500 yet? I know he picked it up when he was here in Indy. I didn't get to talk to him a whole lot at the Monster Mopar.
