1971 Dart in Arcata, CA 5/24/17.

That is a 72 or 73. The side marker design is a 72 and later design.

1968 Dart in Redding, California on 6/2/17.
The taillights are 67, the lack of side marker lamps confirms it a s a 67 model. Close call though.
I am impressed at how much you get around....From Shasta to Mountain View? Are you a delivery driver ??

Nope, just a mechanical engineer from Redding. I travel a lot for work (and to go mountain biking), and have family in the Bay Area.

Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I'm sure he'll like UC Davis. My brother went there and got a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and really enjoyed the college.
