question about B7 blue

I've looked at lots of B7 blue cars. There seems to be two different colors called B7.

I've seen (in person and in pictures) B7 that was so dark it almost looked black. Then there's other cars painted B7 that look a shade darker than B5, just as you'd think it should be.

I don't believe this is something to do with the lighting since I've seen both at the same show. Maybe the color darkens with age?

Anyone have any insight on this?

I used to mix paint in a parts store a while back and noticed that the same paint code doesn't mean the same color from year to year.  even the paint chips looked different shades.

:Twocents: the '68 color was really a dark blue and like Chris pointed out and was kind enough to illustrate the '69 was a couple shades lighter...  :shruggy: The dark blues seem to be really, really rare they are my personal favorite color.    I belive the '70 version was abit darker then the '69 color...
I know i've seen an AAR cuda or two in the dark blue that looks alot like the '68 color and little like the '69 shade...
but i'm not an expert and just going off of my impared mammery...  :shruggy:

They do vary from year to year. Definitely EE-1 on the 68. Hope this helps.
