I remember seeing two winged cars at a junkyard in either Benson or Bisbee, Arizona on a vacation in 1986.  I can't recall if they were Superbirds or Daytonas.  Sadly, my 35mm camera malfunctioned and I lost the pictures I took of the cars.

Does anybody else remember the cars or know what happened to them?

Hi,

My relatives have lived in Benson for over 30 years.  I passed by the auto yard at least 50 times when visiting on vacation as a teenager and fondly remember my dad and I wondering up to the gate to ask the person in the yard (Wayne?) about selling the two cars.  This must have been in the early 1980's.  The person responded with "no way" will I sell these cars!  I actually own a 1970 Chevelle LS6 (original condition) but have always loved Mopars and have always wondered what happened to these cars.  I am thrilled that someone has a photo of them when they were in Benson and also seeing one of the two restored.

I also stopped at the yard by then and asked to see the cars.  The owner allowed a friend and I to look them over......and of course he was quick to let us know that they were not for sale...............Glad to hear that they were "saved"
