I listed it for Rick.  Part of our "collaboration".  I am uploading the photos as we chat :)

10 day auction.  Should be interesting.

His plan is to have his 4-speed 500 done, then his awesome bird!

Hey Travis, where are you?  Hook him up with Keith in Kentucky (restorer that you had do your Dayclona)!  He was a really nice guy.  He sold me those NOS upper door pads for a great price.

Ghoste

Hence my hmmmmm smiley. ;)

In the spirit of trying to learn something new everyday like I did yesterday (with Geno explaining that "tonas weren't delivered with the antennas installed), why isn't there "A11" on the fender tag? I'm taking for granted the hand-written representation of the fender tag is just that, a representation of the fender tag.  I realize that very early production C500's had XS on the VIN, title and data tag as well, but there should have been a "A11" code, no?

I'd be curious on the build date on the fender tag.. This one is on Dec. 9th. I know of 2 C500's built on the 4th with A11 and XX29 on their tags, one of which is mine..........

I think a push on getting the build sheet would seriously help this auction.

Thank god it matches otherwise I smelled another 37,000,000 post thread brewing!  :smilielol:

I hope I'm wrong, but one has to question it........ Looks to have had the holes for the rear quarter R/T emblems welded up....... At least, it "looks" that way in the pictures............

good spot on the Badge holes welded up , thats what it looks like to me also :scratchchin: ..... wan't there some confusion when these cars were being built with the V88  stipe delete  for XX cars & some went to creative with  R/T badges , seam to remember something about that  :scratchchin:

Some of the early production C500's had their badge holes welded up and it is nothing out of the norm, but Dec. isn't part of an early production run. Now, could one have slipped through, of course... I'm also curious on the positions of the headlamp bezels, they seem to be sticking out too far. This car does seem to have everything C500 related, including the fender filler plates between the fender and headlamp bezel... Seems there's a bracket or two for the grille that's not there.. Again, this doesn't mean the car wasn't hit in the front or something's happened to it over the last 40 years..

The grille was in the back seat when car was purchased.  We just set it in there.

With no reserve it'll either be pulled before the end of auction if desired price isn't met, or a side bidder is in place to a off screen reserve. I sure wish it had a BUY it NOW so we wouldn't have to wait 10 days.  :shruggy:

Hope your buddy can get the broadcast sheet, otherwise, and I hate to say it, there'll be a cloud over it all the time...........  It's pretty awesome he was able to track down the original sheet or at the very least, knows where it is.......
