hideaway lights motor question.

Is the hideaway headlight door motor from a c-body the same as used on b-bodies?  The motor is from a 1972 Fury.

From what I have heard yes.  I have never compared them myself though.

Yes, they are basically the same motor. The gear or cam might be slightly differant. If you have your old motor you can switch these parts. Also some of the C-body motors spin in the opposite direction. You may have to unsolder the pigtail, and resolder it to the opposite terminals

thanks for the replies guys, I thought they were the same, they look the same, didn't know about the different rotation. My thought there might be a difference since the doors on c -bodies are heavier. This car has a 360 2 bll, so I might pick it up for parts, has lots of rust.

Yeah Mike same motor was used all the way into the late 70s on like LeBarons etc.

I'm not aware of a different rotation - since they are bydirectional anyway.
