One of Wayne Perkins old Daytonas is a feature car in the June 2009 Hemmings Muscle Machines. It is a 6 page article with many pictures. Wayne sold this car many years ago to a Paul Franzeese in Matteson, Illinois. Paul started some restoration work on it and was lucky to find the numbers matching block along the way. The article says that he sold it about 5 years ago to Julius Steuer ( restorations by Julius ) who restored the car. He drove it for a short time and sold it to Mike Ross who has it now.

I talked to wayne and he said ,their were several inaccurate statement about the way he remembered the car . One was that it did have disc brakes when wayne had it .   wayne had a chance to buy that car back years after he sold it.  He could have bought it for what he had sold it for but just didnt have the money .  He somewhat  regrets not trying harder to get it . He has two daytonas I guess that will just have to do him   :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol:

That has to be one of the things about the Hemmings mag that bugs me the most, they seem to screw up facts all the time.  I always get the impression that the editorial staff are car guys and the copywriters are just freelancers who could write about cars or toasters with equal enthusiasm.

"Julius had worked on atleast 3 daytonas I recall F6 R4 V2 XX29L9B356533 XX29L9B3551"

I believe the 3rd Daytona Julius had his mitts on was my old car, XX29L9B410767.  Take your pick on the color of that car, it was F6 but at the ripe age of 19 when I bought it, I thought that was ugly so I painted it R4 :brickwall:

The memo from T. Guzniak that is posted above by UFO came from my Daytona XX29L9B410767.  I found it under the carpet beneath the passenger bucket seat.  I made a copy and gave it to Jim Radke in 1982.  I assume the original is still with the
