The Joe Perry Project- in a bar in Boston after he quit Aerosmith.
Three Dog Night -my wife made me go.
Sammy Kershaw- country- he sucked.

John. Uriah Heep was awesome. My band use to cover several of their songs. Easy Living, Stealing.

I would rather hear Sabbath with Dio any day of the week. Dio just fits the whole theme(for lack of a better word) of Sabbath so much better. Ive seen Sabbath with Ozzy when they got back together and played Ozzfest a few years back. It was a good show but man Ozzy should just stick with doing his solo stuff.

Then there was the Ronnie Hawkins living tribute concert: (from http://www.jazzreview.com/article/review-4943.html)
"There was a tribute concert held in Ronnie Hawkins' honor at Massey Hall in Oct. 2002, when it was felt that Ronnie had only three months to live. That night some of the best came out to entertain Ronnie and his wife of 40 years, Wanda seated front row center. Some of these special individuals in music included singer Kris Kristofferson, Kelly Jay (Crowbar), Levon Helm and Garth Hudson of The Band .. and Maud Hudson singing "Days Gone By" for Ronnie.

Guitarist Buzz Thompson and blues harp players Jerome Godboo and Roly Platt were also part of the star-studded lineup that night, as were guitar virtuosos Domenic Troiano and Jeff Healey. Doug Inglis was playing drums simultaneously with Levon Helm, who was on a separate drum kit. Also part of the entertainment were The Weber Brothers, as well as The Partland Brothers; David Wilcox and Goddo founder Greg Godovitz on scorching lead guitar riffs and some vocals - with backup singers B.J. Cook, Patti Jannetta and Shawn Jackson helping pay tribute to The Hawk the best way they knew - in song!

Bill Clinton himself, a dedicated Hawkins fan and longtime friend, also appeared -- on two huge TV's perched above the Massey Hall stage that night of Oct. 4th, 2002 to say hello to his good friend Ronnie, in what seemed like a 'farewell to a beloved friend'. Clinton's optimistic and friendly manner in his prerecorded video message to Hawkins that night, seemed very inspirational to this writer. Clinton awed the crowd in attendance, who showed reverence, respect and appreciation for Clinton's heartfelt appearance to say "Hi" to his old friend, Ronnie Hawkins. Another special guest via the same TV monitors, included famed music producer and former Hawk, David Foster, as well as guitarist Domenic Troiano -- even though Dom also appeared on stage this night, as part of the talent roster.

Most in attendance that night in Oct. 2002, felt that Ronnie's days were numbered -- literally. Even the doctors' prognosis gave The Hawk only two or three months to live. Anne Pick's Still Alive & Kickin' documentary was scheduled to be a two-parter -- with the first half featuring The Hawk as he was alive -- then part two, as the events unfolded after he passed away.

Ronnie fooled 'em all by hanging on and making a full recovery to the effervescent and lively character we all know and love to this day. Even this writer's first excursion into Goldmine Magazine, with the Ronnie Hawkins Oct. 4, 2002 Tribute Concert review, was bumped ahead to a Jan. 10, 2003 publishing date (and Ronnie's 68th birthday) in the annual Elvis cover issue - thanks to the kind understanding of then-Goldmine-editor Greg Loescher. It was felt that a February or March 2003 publishing date for my concert review might find Hawkins either too weak or near death to be cheered up by this review.

The fact that Hawkins survived all this stuff, like a rockabilly cat with at least nine lives we know of (and maybe more he's not talking about), makes this night at Massey Hall, December 17, 2005, that much more special! Here's a living miracle in progress, entertaining his friends and fans three years after he was supposed to be as dead as Elvis is purported to be .. but the Hawk's not gone yet! Ronnie's still rockin' and rollin' as good as ever -- like he's swallowed a 'proton energy pill' given to him by 1960s cartoon superhero Roger Ramjet. Maybe a little help from Rompin' Ronnie's 'energy healer' Adam, might have done the trick too, helping in Ronnie's recovery. Or as Ronnie puts it, "With a little help from the 'Big Rocker' in the sky!""

1st concert, Nine Inch Nails (downward spiral) + Pop Will Eat Itself
- NIN was awesome.  It was open floor and I was on the railing most of the time, so the 'fighting off anyone trying to shove themselves in front of me' equivelant of front row seats.  PWEI was ok, too. 

2nd concert, Queensryche (Promised Land) + Type O Negative (blooty kisses)
- Best concert I've ever been to, hands down.  Queensryche was freaking amazing.  As was type o negative.  Again, open floor, right up at the front.

cheap trick
- It was an outdoor festival way past their "big" years, and they did pretty good.

Queensryche (hear in the now frontier)
- Terrible.  I don't know what happened between promised land and this one, but they stunk.  Plus I had nosebleed seats...

Smashing Pumpkins (inf. sadness) + Garbage (Garbage)
- Awesome.  Both bands were amazing.  I had nosebleed seats again, though   But the concert was amazing!

Bush + Goo Goo Dolls + No Doubt
- Blegh.  Worst concert ever.  No doubt was the only one that performed with any apparent talent (which was odd since - at the time - I liked the albums from the other two much better), and bush finished off with - since it was valentine's day - the most horrific rendition of "this one goes out to the one I love" (orig. REM) I've ever heard.  Few horrible remakes ever approach the maiming that song took that night.

Counting Crows (recovering the satellites) + Fiona Apple
- Fiona apple was pretty atrocious, but Counting Crows were great. 

Tori Amos (Choirgirl, LR)
- Pretty good concert.  She did well, but my seats weren't very good.

Third Eye Blind (Blue)
- Terrible seats, terrible sound guy...  The concert was good other than that, which is actually pretty good overall, but the sound guy had enough issues to be distracting...

Barenaked Ladies
- Great show!   Lots of fun.

Tori Amos (Venus, Dallas)
- AWESOME concert, TERRIBLE pre-concert experience.  I almost got kicked out.  My wife and I paid like $300 total for near-front-row tickets.  The "really good" seats were all in folding chairs in the 'pit' of the arena, and the organizers screwed up - they were 2 seats short in row 3 (our row).  So there were 22 seats, and there were supposed to be 24.  We were supposed to be in seats 11 and 12, which were supposed to be the two seats on the left of the middle aisle.  So we sat down on the two seats to the left of the middle ailse (not knowing, at the time, that those were seats 10 and 11 because of the messup).  Not long after the row was nearly full of people, and someone who had seat 10 said we were in his seat.  We showed him our tickets, he showed us his, we couldn't come to an agreement, so he went to get an usher/bouncer.  When he started checking, he realized that the row was screwed up (people on the other side were arguing over which seat was which, too), we watched him escort one guy from the other side up to the main seats (WAY back) and never come back, so when he came back and asked us to get up, we told him we would get up when he showed us seats - in THIS row - we could sit in, and until then we would remain firmly seated.  He said he would find us satisfactory seats or get us a refund, I told him that would NOT be acceptable given that we didn't pay retail for the tickets.  He started getting mad and got a manager or something over telling us to move, but again, since this was THEIR screw-up, we refused to do so until he could point to vacant seats in row 3 we could move to.  The manager and bouncer went off and had some sort of animated discussion, and apparently came to some agreement, left, got another chair, put it in the aisle on the other side, and gave it to the first guy waiting for a seat.  Apparently he didn't want to deal with us -which is fine by me.  All this time, the first guy they took out of the row on the other side never came back, so apparently he just lost his seat...  So all things considered I'm glad we stood our ground, even though I was scared they were going to just outright kick us out!
Anyway, the concert itself was amazing.  She did a cover of the cure's lovesong that was just awesome!

Live (birds of pray)
- Good concert.  I'm a 'kinda' live fan, but they did a great job.

Tori Amos (Strange Little Girls, St Louis)
- fat lady beside me took up half my seat, but otherwise great show!

- Was invited by a friend who really likes them.  I didn't

evanescence
- I waited in line to see them in a little club in Little Rock before they got big (they'd just been signed to do the daredevil soundtrack, and had produced "Origin" through a small label, but hadn't produced "Fallen" yet.  I gave up getting in, though.  Saw them in a big concert a few years later, though, they were awesome at the time.

trans siberian express
- I've seen them twice now, amazing spectacle of a show.  Best pyrotechnics I've seen at any concert.  They know how to put on a good show, that's for sure.

Nine Inch Nails (with teeth)
- This was almost on par with their downward spiral performance.  It was simply amazing.

  Having been to literally hundreds of live shows since my first about 1965 with a bunch of surf bands...
  I'll just touch some hi-lights...
My first real rock show was Santanas' first show at the Fillmore West 1968, Also in '68 Chicago Transit Authority when they were known as CTA. The YoungBloods when Darkness Darkness was in the top ten.
Ike and Tina Turner When Proud Mary was in the top ten.
The Dixie Dregs about seven or eight times usually front row center.
  Robin Trower, Tower of Power and Van Morrison at Winterland.
   The worst show i ever saw was also at Winterland - Joe Frazier and the Knockouts with an audience of about a dozen people most of whom were his family... 
   The Crusifucks the Dead Kennedys and Flipper at the Market Street Cinema.
   Rage against the machine, helmet and Tool at the Warfield, Thin Lizzy the Chinatown tour at the same venue one of my favorite shows of all time.
  the Police, Iggy Pop at the Oakland Civic Holloween concert - at the time of their Ghost in the Machine success.
Ten or so shows by Oingo Boingo in San Fran and L.A. including the first time at Madame Wongs' when they were still the Mistic Knights of Oingo Boingo.
Gong, Brand X, three or four shows by the Jim Carroll Band... 
Fugazi who's fans completly produced their show at Fort Funston.
      ...In New Yorks Manhatten I saw Killing Joke about '97.
and in upstate N.Y in the late '70s I saw the Fifth Dimension.
Funkadelic about 7 or eight times incl. 1st time at the Mothership Connection show at the Cow Palace when I was the only white guy at the show...  or probably within a mile of the concert...
I saw YES when Owner of a Lonely Heart was a huge hit, and the three second slapback from the Cow Palaces poor acoustics made it sonicly the most horrible undiscerible mish mash of echos...
Neal Diamond at Disneyland at my H.S. G.F.s' prom night,.. and it was really great too.. in 1975.
Bootsy Collins a couple times...
ZZ Topps' Afterburner show at the Cow Palace one of the best shows I've ever seen,.. and three years later ZZ Topps' MSD (beer) tour - one of the worst shows I've ever seen...
  Duran Duran just after their second album Hungrey Like the Wolf was released... 
  John Mcglaphlin with Shakti at the Keystone, John Scofield at the Old Waldorf.
  Weather Report at the Berkeley Greek Theater,.. The Grateful Dead, Joanie Mitchells' Jazz tour with Jaco Pastorius.
 
  Machine Head, Death Angel, Ratt, Zebra Aldo Nova & basicly a whole shit load of punk bands and metal bands most of who I forget their names and/or was too stoned drunk or both to comprehend or remember...   
  Alan Holdsworth both with IOU and in later years... Pat Mathini and another whole crap load of mid '80s fusion guitarists only other guitarists have heard of,.. like Kittyhawk, Dry Jack, Caldara etc...
Al Dimiola in his first two tours and later with Paco De Lucia and John Mc Glaphlin..
  one of the best shows I saw recently was Saint Germain where the ratio of chicks to dudes was approx 15/1 better then even a Dave Matthews Concert... 
  Bill Bruford and Billy Cobham both jazz fusion drummers,.. David Crosby a few years ago...
Marti Jones was one of my Favs of all time too... at Slims.. all for now, my brain hurts and I'm having flashbacks...

Maybe I missed it. But I haven't seen the Ramones or the Sex Pistols on anyone's list yet. I sit down the other night and made a list of the concerts I want to see this summer. It would be possible for me to hit about 15 shows this year, but I may want to put that money into my Duster. It's hard for me to see any good concerts as the venues are all around 100+ miles from me. SUCKS!!!!
