Well, I bit the bullet and bought Ted's Bird.  Until I get the $$$ for resto she's going satin black with a set of the new NASCAR steel wheels and modern rubber, should look absolutely evil.  I have one thing to say about Ted Janak, He's a heck of a guy.

Congrad's... Another wing car will hit the streets of Texas..... I've talked to Ted many times and he seems like a great guy... Hope to meet him soon.

Lucaslaw, look forward in seeing the 'Bird up and running and eventually done. Are your future plans that of painting her back to yellow?

Again, congrad's...  :2thumbs:

Apparently that car was originally lemon twist, so eventually she'll go back yellow.  Right now I need to get 1 color of paint of the car so a coat of black primer and a coat of clear with a little flattening agent should do just fine.  I've always wanted a set of NASCAR Hauler steelies so if the bolt pattern fits (Tire Rack has no idea) I'll put them on with some big rubber in the back and do a little driving.  Once I plugged the huge vacuum leak from the headlight actuators and made a couple carb adjustments she runs good.

If Ted's car had become available next year instead of this year, it probably would have come to Arkansas. ;D

Black and satin black are "in" right now. We've had several requests to build black cars for people lately. Even a couple of mine are going black and satin black.

Are you guys affiliated with Lucas Mopars? They have a yellow 70 Challenger convert hemi clone that I built for my wife a few years ago. We hated to sell that car, but we needed to build another shop and the car had to go.

I was born in Little Rock, but moved to Fort Smith when I was 8 months old.
My parents were from the Fort Smith area and when my dad got out of school, we moved back to this area. I now live in Greenwood, south of Fort Smith, and restore musclecars full time.
If you weren't at the Centerville, AR Mopar show yesterday, you missed seeing three exceptional birds. Ken Presley's two and BIll Sam's (I think) from Hot Springs.

Yes. Thanks, I really appreciate that. It just seems like the thing for me to do is find something that is rough (and I don't mean rusted away) since even if I bought a nice driver, I would probably still blow it apart and restore it.
Of course, if I don't find one like that, I'll eventually just pony up and buy something decent to restore. I've located a few cars in the past year that needed total resto including some rust repair but were priced within 20K of a really nice driver.

Oh, and I forgot to say congrats to LL on the great purchase of Ted's car. Hopefully since we're in the same part of the world, we might meet at a show or something.  Would love to see the car in person.

I would hope so, pm me and I'll give you my number.  As for Talledega, SHAKE AND BAKE BABEEEEY.   YEHAAAAAAH.  Did you know that "Plymouth" and Freebird" (my favorite song) have the same number of letters, yep, getting custom made "Freebird" letters to replace "Plymouth" on the tail.  heck, I can always change it back.  Soon to be satin black "Freebird" with NASCAR wheels.

Okay...this is the point where you purists should close your eyes, cover your ears and walk slowly towards the door. :icon_smile_big:

They didn't have much to say when I bolted the Superbird wing to the quarters of my 69 runner so you might be safe.
