What's different with blue, orange, chrome or aftermarket E C U's? Do they effect more than dwell?  :shruggy:

RPM limit

up 6000 orange
up 8000 chromed
up 12000 gold

I think stock ( blue or black ) is around 5000, or maybe same 6000 but less dwell

As an addition to what Nacho has there, it doesn't mean they act as a rev limiter and cut out at those points.  It's the rpm limit that dwell is accurate to.

has been told latelly orange boxes are having some quality issues. Chromed box are coming better... not a presonal experience though. I went directly with chromed because I got at hand from somebody wasn't to use it since decided at the end go with MSD

I've had equal results with both personally so I think it's hit and miss on the Mopar Performance ECU's in general. :shruggy:

BTW I have in hands also a COBRA Brand ECU Blue box ( it was the one on car, before the chromed unit )... I had the ECU box with specs there but lost the box and forgot the specs. I think remember was pretty much similar to the Orange MP unit. Haven't able to find any info about that brand, if somebody knows... will be great

( sorry the highjack )

No highjack Nacho that's more info! My aftermarket has worked well but I thought best to get "proper MoPar set"....now I hear of bad ones! (crap!) The plan was to keep old one in the car as backup anyway. I thought chrome was "race only" part....not good for daily driver? (what do I know  :shruggy: ) I've never heard of "Cobra" brand.

Nacho-RT74

Gold is race only, rest are street/strip.
