The design looks very well balanced. I would drive that car. I have refused to buy a new Challenger since every rich kid in town has one around here, but that Challenger I would definitely consider buying.

Good grief. I'll try to keep my bitch short as to why: I sold my last 69' charger due the I couldn't get a 426 Hemi block here, 9 months of waiting pissed me off enough to sell everything.
I did the back window daytona/500 style, had fenders and lower valance for Daytona clone and thats it.
But everytime I had my garage door open, some knucklehead would come by and say, nice Chevelle, or what year GTO, and last but not least, its that a Duke of Haz. car?
I hated that comment the most, sorry duke car owners.
A Daytona is a Charger, NOT a Challenger. Its a shame what car builders have come down to building anymore. Some cars should stay within they're build moto.
Example: Trans Am kit car turned into a Mustang, NOT!

Thats my two cents.
Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

It looks weird but you have to admire the skill it took to fabricate that nose cone.

Well, at least you didn't get asked like I have on several occasions about the building a Batmobile like I get sometimes while driving the runner around with the wing on it  .

I'd like to see what it looks like finished but I give the guy credit for all the effort put into it. The great thing about the auto hobby is anyone can get creative as far as their talents will take them.  Some will like it and some will not but if the owners happy that's all that matters.

ACUDANUT

Hey, It's a Challenger Daytona. I know a Guy who claims he had one in 1968 with a 352 Hemi.  :smilielol:

mauve66

i really like it, the FENDER scoops on the HOOD look rediculous and the moulding at the doors doesn't look sized correctly but the nose and the wing look great, i didn't read what they want to name it but just cause you put a lambo door on a car doesn't mean you think it is a lambo celica(mustang, firebird, charger, whatever) just cause you put a nose and wing on a challenger doesn't mean its wrong, custome cars are called custome becuase its something that no one else has done........ yet, now, that being said......... sometimes customs don't look good to me either but i LIKE THIS ONE :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:
reminds me of the 73-74 RR that was done up as a superbird

I can't help but think of the Cars movie when I look at it (not the Superbird).

hotrod98

I like it. I guess that I just like cars that are... "different".  Why else would I buy an all black Superbird with an air grabber hood and 17" rims.

Definately, not the "Hillbilly Plywood Factory" that we've seen many times on other 'clones'.   :icon_smile_big:

Those hood scoops look like trash (look at the close up pics). Should have done a better job. Overall the car looks cool and he did great work...but why skimp on some things? I hate that.

superbirdtom

to start out and make a complete new car for a newer style daytona would be a major task. I think that this is just an attempt to do something cool while not getting to serious.  and I will bet that it could be sold to the younger generation as a kit.

If you really did want to make a new daytona only the factory can really do that.    but it has to be made on a base model that can accomodate the parts.  I like most of you are in the old  school and are biased.   but overall it is cool to go to a show and see something like this.

I wonder how long it will be until we see the kit available for all the younger kids to atart converting their challengers.

lucaslaw

That little kick up behind the window needs to go, looks to cam--o ish to me, but dang, that thing is cool, I'd drive it.

Daytona R/T SE

They need to figure out what they're building here  ::)

It's a Challenger body.

With a Superbird style nose...(Note the headlight blackouts and the grille)

With a big honking "DAYTONA" plastered across the quarter panel  :scratchchin:

Based on their lack of direction in this project,

I'd guess it's probably got a small block Chevy under the hood, too. :eek2:

nakita7

I agree. I like it to be honest, but it is a bit of a 'mutt' isn't it?

This is probably the fifth thread on the new challychargersuperbirddaytona,..  :icon_smile_wink: wink wink,.. nudge nudge..
I feel the details wern't quite handled right, too much gingerbread the scoops look tacked on and the paint stripe and logos are too heavy handed and busy, cleaned up I think it would rock,.. but i don't understand the crap plastered all over it. the square exhausts are cool - but not on this car.  :shruggy:

65post

Its a bird - its a daytona - no its a winged challenger.....Yuck

Daytona Guy

Why? Why? Why? If you're going to make it a Daytona, then make it a Daytona... Don't use a Bird wing and a Bird type nose. And those door things - It's just bad - what were they thinking? Over all there is a coolness about it - but to make this car a true hit - the little things have to be done right. If you're going to this extreme - One needs to consult someone who knows something about the car they are building.
