Better make it the "Show us your 1969 Charger 500" thread.   ;)

The Ghoul

huh, guess I learned something today, I always thought the rear window plugs on the 500's were fiberglass (like the side window plugs in the 3rd gen chargers)
Sad to see it such rotten (literally) shape, but I feel obligated to say it once again if it were not for cars like this, our cars would not exist... Just so sad to see something that rare that far gone.

The rear window plugs from 500s,Daytonas,and Superbirds were steel. The rear window plugs on Challenger SEs were fiberglass.

I was told there was a 69 500 in a yard in southern Rhode Island. I went to look for the car,but the guy who brought us through the yard, wasn't to keen on us seeing all of the cars he had.The place was like something out of Deliverance!!! There was a few wackos who live out there in the woods! I thought we were gonna loose Gary when one of them jumped out of the bushes, yelled at Gary, and drove off in an old truck that looked like it had been in the same spot for twenty years!!!! I told Gary, Burts not here to rescue you!!!! He won't hear your squeeling!!!!!I did see a Coronet 500 convertible, maybe the guy who gave me the info, confused that with a Charger 500,or maybe its still out there! We may have to sacrifice Gary to find out!

Well Chargervert, you said yourself it was "south" Rhode Island. ;)

Those are some cool pics, pocket! that orange car, looks like the Daytona conversion was in the works! Dave, dose that VIN list have all 392 VINS on it? Ghost, them boys do things a little different in Hope Valley,it's like the West Virginia of R.I.

nascarxx29

That was just the page with the junkyard car on it I might have some more laying around from older days .Im still looking into getting more pages similar to the daytona shipment list. That has 500s and dealers listings where they sold new from

Dave thats some cool info! you have to wonder how many of the 392 cars have survived! It still amazes me that 27 of the 28 70-71 Hemicuda convertibles survived!thats an amazing survival rate! That missing Green 70 Hemicuda vert may surface yet! I'm sure there are still some 500s,and Daytonas that people have that arent known to the Mopar world!

nascarxx29

I know where one hemi convertible that was laying in my town I knew from the 80-s .Showed up in MCG the white red car with power windows. I think I have something on a green one somewhere in my records. Here is a older compilage of 69 charger 500s   by a friend Jim Radke founder of the early winged warriors

I know of a gold one that came out of a junk yard. I believe it was in NY. It had a tree growing up through the engine compartment when my friend acquired it. It it still around, just not in very good shape.
