"Romeo From Super-Go" had a Superbird with a wild red-white-blue paint scheme - there wasn't a Daytona associated with a radio station that I know of...

Definitely not the same car.  That's a picture of the "Star Daytona" which DC.com member davtona owns, and it's still sitting in his garage.  The picture from hctub's thread was taken in Indianapolis during the time Dave Jones owned it, and the one from the Moparts thread was taken in New York.  I'll have to ask Vance sometime if Bill Card's car (the one in the Moparts picture) had the funky paint job on it when he restored the car back in the '90s.

Im more than sure its Billy Cards daytona from my years and sources .I didnt need to see the picture title on bottom edge the reads 5069409-carddaytona1lr.jpg.But after consulting with Vance lets us know what you find out. :popcrn:

Yes Gene you are correct. The "Star Daytona" may have visited New York at sometime that I don't know about but I'm pretty sure it never lived there. Spent it's prior life in Indiana with some trips to Kentucky occasionally. Original owner was from that area. Amazing two cars so far apart can be so similar. Yes I'd like to hear Vances's version of the car and compare notes if it looked like that when he got it.

Look at the colors of the wings between the star and card daytona .Also star has from the top red white and blue sections cards car has white red. Also roof line center is blue cards car.Along with the picture is named .

Don't sweat it. It had me going for a little while also. I thought someone had found another picture of my car from back in the day. :o The similarity in the wheels on both cars at first glance is amazing. The time frame for both cars is about the same also. By 1980 or so my car was going back to its original F-6 color. I believe the picture you posted shows the start of its transformation back. The top of the drivers quarter, sail panel and roof look a little green to me. The primer also leads me to believe the picture was taken at the start of the change back to green. How many more Red, White and Blue Daytonas were there?

As recounted by a long time mopar guy who lives in Ithaca NY

Bought new at Prichards Dodge Ithaca NY, still in business, B5 blue 440 auto.

Bill Card Sr owned a used car dealer [Automotive Consultants] so car was always driven on dealer plate so that's why the car was never registered/titled. It was used for many trips to Florida for the Daytona 500.

Circa 1972 - at the Millers Chrysler Plymouth dealer - Bill Sr wanted better gas mileage so the 354 dana was swapped with a 70 super bee 3.23 8-3/4.

Circa 1976ish Bill Sr bought a ski boat - wild metallic red white and blue-and towed boat with the Daytona to Florida and other places. This is when the car was painted the custom scheme in the picture to match the boat.

The car and the boat were always parked outside at the used car dealership year round as an attention getter.

Some time in the late 80's the car went to a body shop in Watkins Glen NY and sat, with little work done to it. Then it was moved to back to Ithaca and it was parked outside and ended up sunk to hubs in mud. Bill Sr died and the car was willed to Bill Jr. When the restoration bug hit Jr it was sent to Michigan and restored.
