Man that is a nice looking Daytona Clone :icon_smile_big:

You ever think about going the bling bling route sometimes? I know I do.  ;D

Just don't go too far.

i was digging out some of my old photos to scan to keep safe . I ran across these of this black superbird

That's upper Broadway in Kingston.     never saw that bird around  :shruggy:     I was living in Port Ewen around then and still worked at the Kingston plant then.  O well.

But my friend Speedo worked on a Superbird in the early 90's at his shop that was lime light...  it was owned by one of the Dietz brothers that ran a NAPA / towing business out on Rt 28.
It was a rotisserie job that last I saw was green but I don't know what it started out as.  Something happened and the car was pulled out and I've never seen it again but I've heard a couple times that he still may have it.

You just never know where you're going to find a Superbird. At one time, there were three of them around here. That's a lot of birds for a small town in Arkansas. Now that I've brought one home, we're back up to two birds.
As soon as I get this one back on the road, I would like to ge a pic of the two of them together. Give me a couple of weeks. It's going into the booth tomorrow.

It actually looks just as good with the vinyl top on, I took it off  when some little bubbles appeared  just some surface rust  or I wouldn't have taken it off,  whan it gets real hot  you will see a line around the plug  its a typical problem with the plugs  as theyre just tack welded in . the only way to ever get  rid of that is to lead in the whole plug  but god  what a lot of work.   I forgot how cool it looked without the hood.It just takes a day to put one on vs all the painting and blocking and polishing.   I got hasseled by the cops  they said cars have to have hoods .  who am I to argue :eek2:

moparstuart

  I watched a movie the other night called "Dazed and Confused". It was a 1993 movie with a young Ben Affleck and Mathew McConahey (spelling). The movie gave a brief glimpse of a black bird at a drive-in. Pretty cool!

Now wait a minute....I didn't think red decals were available? I thought only black & white?

I noticed the front has the round 'bird decal on the passenger side...thought it was always on drivers side?

<now I'm really confuzed>

Sometimes the small decal is on both sides...  :icon_smile_big:

Man, that goes way back... Waco Street Machine Nationals back in the day.  Ken's 'Bird is back to its original B5 color now...........

Thats been a few years  ago. A couple anyway. I thought I did, I knew the car was black for sure. If I remember right we met at his place in Austin. The "RAID" began from there. I thought I saw the car there maybe it was just pictures.
