Any body guys have any thoughts on if this roof could be patched or will need a complete roof skin? Looks like someone decided to cut out a section just above the windshield A-pillar.  The metal at the edge is still really strong and not cut back far enough that the metal is flimsy at the cut area.   Does anyone reproduce the 71/72 roofs yet?

if thats the only  part that needs replacing !! i would just plate it  :yesnod:   even if both sides are the same !! less work than doing a roof  :Twocents:

Yep that is the only place that needs replacing.  Even the floors are in great shape.  I was in hopes that a bodyman could take a roof from a parts car and cut the section out to replace it.  I am just glad they did not cut further back into the roof, then the metal might be to flimsy to weld.     Another plus it is a vinyl top car so that might be a benefit in this situation?

I ended up buying a complete roof that has some surface rust.  I just was in hopes that it could be patched since the roof on the car is much better (except for the cutout) that I got off a parts car.

I would clean it up and weld in a patch if you have another old roof skin to cut a patch out of even better, it not that hard of a repair.
