When there is a million dollar price tag on a hemi 4dr this looks like a deal !

It wont be long before good clones start bringing six figures,if 440 originals start bringing those kind of prices! Its really getting crazy!

I agree.....  The ONLY thing good about it is that my C500 may get higher in value.. But, what does that mean when you aren't looking to sell?  Nada................  Oh well.... I think I'm going to take Dana out for a drive, can't do that with greenbacks..........   :icon_smile_big:

Just for kicks, I messed around with the payment calculator on that ad.  At zero down, 5.5% interest on a five year note- you payment would only be $6200!!!  Only!

I agree that the Daytona going for an outrageous price only makes my car worth triple the value!
Awesome!  :icon_smile_big:

I think it means you need to be really careful who knows what you have, or pay for a lot of insurance. :)

geezzz!! you couldn't even get some goofball at a BARRETT-JACKSON auction to cough up that kind of dough for a daytona. though, stranger things have happened.....................
how'd i do that!?!?!?

69_500

Oh I think you could get plenty of people to cough up that kind of money for a daytona. However I don't think it would be for a 440 4 speed car. I think a HEMI Daytona easily.

Thats why I don't like when people are talking about VIN#s! I don't want to see someone loose a car! You don't know who is reading these threads! You can't be too careful!

69_500

See I don't mind people knowing the VIN to my car, but then again its not a HEMI or anything like that. Yeah its rare, or at least a little rare, but then again I also can tell you this information on my car by heart, so if something happened to it, well I don't know what I'd do.

Ghoste

And as for Barret-Jackson, remember that a  lot of those people aren't even necessarily car freaks.  The ones who get shown on tv paying the record prices are very wealthy folks who are paying for the "coolness" of paying a stupid price for a car on national television as much as anything.  They know enough about the car to realize they are paying too much but you can't put a price on smiling into the camera for your pals back home.

MGBRingo

Ellingson's is not too far from me.  They have a lot of nice cars in there usually.  They are a museum and sell a lot of collector cars of all types.  I stop in there when I go by.

I would agree it better have a Hemi and 4 speed for that much.

70 Battle Horse

Could Daytonas come with a pepple grain ralley dash ??? I thought that Daytonas were  R/Ts at first, then converted. And if R/Ts didnt they all come with woodgrain??? I am not making any kind of statement ... I just would like someone who knows to clear this up for me  Thanks

Best 1/4 run so far 12.7 @ 108 mph

Ghoste

No, you're thinking of SE's.  Rt's still had the stnadard finish on the dash (unless they were an RT/SE of course).

I was thinking along the lines of a 70 R/T = where the woodgrain is standard

Ghoste

You would be correct for 1970, Battle Horse but for the Daytona in 69, it came with the standard black.

69_500

Seeing an 4 speed car without a tach is a strange thing but not totaly unheard of. I have seen a 4 speed daytona that didn't even have a clock, but was clock delete as well. Which always seemed odd to me. Then again I guess it might have been cheaper to do away with the tach from Mopar and install your own aftermarket tach.

Ghoste

They then knew then just as well as we do today how innacurate the factory tach was.  A lot of cars were ordered without them.  I bet if you could total it up... far, far more were ordered without than with.
