What do you know, I'm involved with this one......

Meet #70, spring 2011 will be held in Mansfield, Massachusetts.   Activities will include a bus trip to Boston to see the USS Constitution, the JFK Memorial Library and a stop at Faneuil Hall Market for food and shopping.

Here's a couple of updated pictures. This WWII German camouflage look gives the car some character...

Last one. I originally brought the car in for some spot repairs and the thought of a coplete paint job initially shocked me, but now I am glad that the car is going this route.

Here's a few pictures of the Daytona taken today. The body is now in epoxy primer & three more coats of gray primer will be applied; then wet sand smooth. The doors, decklid, & hood are off the car & are being stripped inside the jambs & underneath. The nose cone's in primer and hopefully, in a couple more weeks it'll be just about ready for paint.  :boogie:

Finally, the body has paint on it!! The rest of the body panels & loose trim pieces will be painted by the end of next week and the car is being wet sanded today. The end is now in sight.

Unfortunately it's hard to capture a good picture with the sun shining through the garage doors.

Looking good. I'm afraid of the avalanche as well. My paint job isn't perfect, but dang nice for a '94 job. If I address anything, it'll turn into one thing after another. Been there, done that.........

paint don't have to be perfect to have a great, fun time with your car . remember they were meant to be driven not trailed from garage to show and back .  :Twocents:

I think I might know who owned your rig, I'd have to ask Dan to be sure.  The WA. state owner's name might ring a bell if I knew it?  Sorry, but I can never quite make out what Dave's saying.

SB Bob would be your best bet & I'm sure 8WHEELER (Dan) remember's it as well.  There's another red one up here that I think is a survivor that's owned by a younger fellow, pictured below.

This link was about a Red daytona from WA state .Not sure if same car
http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,68286.25.html

I checked out that thread a few months ago. Definately not my car. At one time, my car was painted maroon with the wing, fender scoops, hood inlays, and lower portions of the quarters, doors and fenders painted red and no stripe. In the picture, it's pretty hideous. While taking the car apart, there are traces of yellow overspray, but I don't know if it was yellow before or after it was maroon. When it was in WA, the license plate read "WINGCAR". I also have a picture of it in the early-mid 90's with an Oregon plate on it.

I talked with the body shop today & everything is painted & buffed with the exception of the nose cone, and that should be painted either Thursday or Friday. The tail has been painted with the Organisol & the windshield & back glass should be in next week. With a little luck, the wing & the stripe should be on next week too. Hopefully, the car will be coming back home in a couple of weeks.   :2thumbs:
