I was going through some old papers the other night and I found a letter I had got from Govier in 91 .In that letter he had a - F8 -   Hemi - white gut - white stripe -   white vinyl - P.W. - in his registry but no details about it. Did this car come from Creative Ind. with a vinyl ! And is there anyone who has a pic of this car ! Thanks
Previously owned Daytona XX29L9B423239 - f8 - white int. - power windows.

Hey Vert! .........The "Mass wingcar" family owned never titled, never registered, in storage all it life!"dealer demo" :o actual milage 11,000 vinyal top installed by upholstery shop,local........repainted B5/ stripe painted on( original finish was tired from years of being fondled by wingars in the showroom where it sat much of its life, repainted, put in storage), wire wheels, original magnum rims in trunk(4), jacks were gone?,........no rust, no body/paint damage, interior exc. cond........car is pretty much original excluding paint, rims, "dealer vinyal".....studied this car for quite a few years as it sat in storage! ( and no, I won't release/print the cars #, vin, location, you wingars out there think that #''s list is accurate? unless you've seen the cars, know their history, see the real paperwork!, the WWarriors "list" is "general" to say the least?)........the car in question had some unique "features" in its construction from creative Ind.......spoke with the owners, and the former service manager detailing the cars history,...............unfortunitly, due to family matters, the car was sold.........waiting to see when this one becomes public again, and what BS stories might be told! :icon_smile_big:

Dad claimed of starting up one in 1970 when it was still on the dealer lot brand new in Spokane. Had been moved from Lewiston Idaho because it couldn't sell there. Hemi Orange, tan vinyl top, tan interior, 426 Hemi.

There's another one in Spokane currently, red with a vinyl top, 426 Hemi, but that car came from back east.

Dave,...................................................what part did you miss?..........................................................the info your going by is flawed, I've said this for years! the WWarriors list is reference only, not gospel!..............................the car#'s, owners info in your last post is way off base!...........not even close!.................as I've stated, I will not release car/owners personal info!......................but Dave, if you'd like you could post your vin, address, time your at work, which mat the spare key to the garage is under! and leave the keys of your Daytona in the ignition! :icon_smile_big:

Back to the question on post? to the best/current knowledge that I have ,vinyal tops were dealer installed/options, whether the dealership performed the task, thats on a per car basis, that info. is not avaiable? however creative did do several "special order" paints, and yes boys &   girls stripe delete daytona's........don't call my bluff!..I've seen the cars/paperwork/vintage photos!.......in fact the last stripe delete car I veiwed,36000 mile original, stored since 72........under going a mild revitialization, the 2nd owner is "dying" to met Galen G....galen told him "stripe delete Tona's  where NEVER built!........well all the docs are their along with a pic of the car, on purchase day! at the dealership! the focus of the pic was the buyers 2 young daughters, alas standing at the rear qrt/ wing shot......look ma! (Galen) no stripe, wing same color as car! :icon_smile_blackeye:.....................Tim Wellborn has the "competition   Orange" Special order paint daytona (1of  1 for that color)

Ive seen alot cars with near close vins and colors run alike. From V2 Orange and R4 Red and other colored cars that were twin builds of each other . Of the many B5 cars Ive seen they sometimes tend to run in close number sequences .And seen cars starting with a certain like beginining vin   number and whatever its ending number is for example   152 153 and so one etc .Turn out to be B5 also .By a coincedence? .Or the factory painted groups of cars in consistant number vins at the same time.Has been what Ive experienced.

And somehow your offended by my research  :yesnod:

Hi XS29J .I remember that car of his .Hes the guy who sells vintage magazines.Do you recall J Phillips orange hemi car from MO.It looked something like Dels car

Mike, your points about the "list" are valid and would go a long way to explaining some of the number questions we are having on the 500 threads as well.

I have seen pictures of Phillip's car, but never saw the car in person...   Yep, Del still sells the magazines, but I don't see him too much anymore.

Nice pics, luckily they put the A-pillar stainless, back on!.............most dealers/shops didn't!..................one "rumor" that I hear alot concerning Tona's with vinyl is" when the dealer placed an order into the central office(corporate) for vinyl roof mat'l, mouldings, etc, apon receiving the FOB shippment, and/or installation the dealer was to ship the A-pillars back to corporate,...............I've never seen any docs to back this up! .........only hearsay!

I had not heard that story...  I am fairly certain that Del's car was done by a reqular shop instead of a dealer.  If I recall correctly, it even had a little "padding" under the vinyl top material.  :P

Im sure cars got dealer traded .When I was a kid our local plymouth dealer or dodge dealer .Would have daytona and later superbirds. At different dealers all over our town. And I have tracked cars that sold new in our area by the list where it said it sold from. And later I would find it 3000 miles away. And guy had it since 70.So either these cars got traded among themselves.Or miltary personal switch bases were exporting cars from our area .To parts across the country. And then after a trip to the library and searching the old car ads on microfilm.I would go to a show and see a superbird with its paper work that also stated its #stock number. And in turn I would hand the guy a ad for his car when it was new for sale when on the car dealership lot brand new that matched the stock # of that car.Which makes in my opinon some cool paperwork. And I given daytona owners unaware of this daytona shipment list. Some more documentation.Ive got many vintage original microfilmed muscle car ads

Jeffs old daytona is with a friend of mine its with his other hemi daytona.Last timeI heard. Jeffs car was once on the cover of popular cars in 85 .

Hey Ghoste!

I've found that most dealers had "problems" selling the 500's,.........nothing in comparison in trying to sell a daytona!..............this is why many cars didn't actually sell from the original/origin invoice records that   creative/ factory held............dealers were fighting to rid themseves of these cars, some dealers were fighting to obtain these cars!......................my family sold AMC's (don't tell anybody!) in the 60's-70's into the mid 80's......I seen alot of games that dealerships played!..............cars and paperwork voodoo!

Not sure about the vinyl, but shouldn't have PW. According to the Winged Warriors, options like air and PW and such weren't available on Wing cars.

My old daytona 423239  came  coded ( P31 ) with PW. My guess it was a ordered car and not a sales bank car.
