Call Ray back and tell him it would look great sitting next to his Spoiler II.

I believe Ray now has everything for his museum collection. I know he has all the Mopars and based on what you've stated, he must have all the Fords as well.........

Just my opinion, but I have been to many auctions and it seems that the ones held in the early months of the year the prices are always down, as many people are trying to sell to meet their tax liabilities due on April 15th.  Always see cars do better after that and in the better weather.  The economy also plays havoc as for many this is a hobby and the purse strings have been really tight over the last couple of years.  Keep the faith and count yourself lucky to own such a fantastic ride.  It is really a matter of finding the right person - and somewhere they are out there.

One thing that mystifies me with this car is the opinion that the colour is a reason for the no sale, and that the Green Daytonas are more desirable. This certainly seems not to be the case over on 'Moparts' WIW threads where green cars seem to hold no desirability or value. I would have thought that a red Daytona would be the apex color choice... FWIW I can't understand why the car won't sell at the asking price.

This is my opinion and nothing more. And is NOT a bash on Troys car ( I personally would love to have it )
but
Hemi orange and/or red Daytonas with black interior seem to be the most common colors avail. followed by what seems to be pretty close is Y2 yellow

So, if a buyer wants a Daytona these are the 2 most common colors so it tends to widen the gap from the more desireable / less common F6 or B5 as an example. Plus MOST ( not me) want a 4 speed car.

v-code '70 Charger R/T?

Yep... but, I will have to think about it... and talk to the potential buyer.  Upon closer inspection, the V Code is in better condition that I thought... still a big project tho.  Nicely optioned including Trac Pack & 15 inch Rallye Wheels (not included).   The engine is from a 1969 GTX, and I plan to use it in the Daytona...

F-6 is bright green , its very desirable on a daytona or any charger , now when you talk about F-8 or F-5 darker greens those are the ones that are more of an aquired taste  :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big:

I for one am hoping the prices start to come down soon. I am tired of waiting on a Daytona. One would think that 18 years of searching would have landed me one by now. On the bright side for me is that i should have more years left than the majority of the people looking for these winged cars.

Hey Troy how much is the Daytona you are after going for?

I think there are lots of V2 and R4 Daytona's cause they look so good. The 4-speed R4 car in Pa was a good buy and was priced to sell. There seems to be a few Daytona's on the market for a long time. I think at some point you can safely say that they are priced over the current market.

Good luck with the sale.

Hey Dave..
At the present time, I'd rather not say (hope you understand)... It's a price the owner and I have agreed on... Regardless,, mine hasn't made it to the magic number.. This car is done unlike the one in PA. I knew about the PA one before it went on the market... If I'm going to get project upon giving up mine, I'm going to get a couple/few of them. I have a very focused agenda and well for now,,,, I'll go with the flow.........  Thanks for the well-wishes........   :2thumbs:

Me too. I hope I can get my 70 R/T done and maybe move it and buy a solid 500 project.

I was asking cause it gives the rest of us some insight into the Daytona market. From reading your posts over the last couple of years I am guessing it is a F6 4-speed car?

Is the agreed price more or less than you are asking for your car? I understand if you don't want to say but you did ask.

If you are getting out of one car and into another I don't see how you can go wrong. If the market picks up again your new car will go up? If it goes down your car would have lost value too. Its only taking a chance if you get completely out of the market. Then you are rolling the dice.

Have the offers on your car gone up or down over the last couple of years?

The one I'm looking at is an auto........ Right!!  Did I say that again?     Yes, there was a day I absolutely wanted a 4-speed Daytona and nothing else would satisfy me. But, I guess cruising in my car now has dampened that urge...  One day, I would like a 4-speed car, maybe in the form of a Superbird or C500 ( I could always convert my C500 into a 4-speed, have everything for it..)
