When I click on the link, I get another web browser that opens, then I will get a grey screen with a float button near the bottom. I'm on windows '98 yet, maybe doesn't support it?  ???

Do you have Java installed? How about Javascript enabled? The easiest way to check for Javascript is to see if the spellchecker works when posting.

Do you have a pop-up blocker? If so you need to disable it to get into the chat room...

Jen, he's getting the new window - just not the Java part in the center of the page that contains the chat. It is probably the version of Java installed but that's tough to tell from here.
