How would you like to own a piece of history like this?  I hope that, just like the seller wants, that this display stays together.  I can't even imagine what the reserve would be on something like this.

Any guesses as to what this collection will bring?? I know the Talledegas are rare last time I saw one "In the wild" was here in our town about 14 years ago, but how rare are they compared to a 500 or Daytona??? It looks as this trailer was a exhibit the way it is laid out, Im not a Ford guy but I would jump if I could get my hands on a Talledega!!Awesome cars!!
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Jason is a great friend of mine and I HATE to see this go.He sold to the Banjo car to a guy from Texas and it is VERY likely that the car will NEVER be seen again.I hope that whoever it is that buys it is an enthusiast and not just a collector.

He probably took a screwin by the collector  so I hope he gets a fortune from these parts

You'll never see another parts cache like this again.    I hope it is ultimately able to stay together as a display.

Question:  If these were Daytona/SuperBird parts, would you prefer the factory stock parts (not the race only parts) in a museum or on a Daytona/SuperBird needing a repair?  What about for a clone?   :stirthepot:

A couple years ago, there was a guy building a Daytona clone out of NOS parts bought from Nichels Engineering long ago.   Some of them had the Nichels labels still on them.   The fellow had almost everything except a hood.   It was a pretty impressive collection.   Not sure if the car was ever completed, but they did get started on it.

There just aren't that many folks with the old NASCAR sickness (I've got  a severe case and I fear I infected Doug...or at least exacerbated his condition). The cars, even when completed are mostly door stops with few places to race and few venues where they are welcome. There are few real deal   cars around and those geniune cars that do exist and have been correctly restored are degraded by the ever increasing number of mostly execrable fakes that have popped up for "museum display". So, the market for old NASCAR cars is small...(and was so even before all of this hope and change we are experiencing in the economy). At present, that market seems to be non-existent. A running and sorted replica 1962 NASCAR Galaxie (with a 427 under the hood) brought only 27 K at a reccent auction and that is the ONLY old NASCAR (real or otherwise) car that has sold in the last 24 months (that I am aware of anyway...). The parts and the trailer, while way cool, have zero utility. There is but one known surviving GN Talladega and it is already complete. So, the parts are not needed by anyone other than a clone builder. The sole function for the trailer and all of its parts is to take up space...except the few times a year it can serve as a conversation piece at a show. That's too bad. But that's the way it is. If I were Jason, I would have taken the 45K top bid and run with it (assuming that bid was the real deal, natch).

What are you restoring there?
Holman Moody chassis C4HM-10041, the 1964 H&M "House Car"

It is a symptom of my sickness, I am afraid.  Don't stand too close...look what happened to Doug

Doc - Totally agree with you.   Clone race cars degrade the few real ones left.   There is a lot of hype on this site about building clone Birds and Daytonas.... And then one wonders why a certain V2 REAL Daytona can't get a real price for what it is...   Without clones, it most likely would have sold already.
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Boo hoo, Really? Complaining about clones driving down the price of the "real thing"? not so, for one with the economy in the state it is and alot of folks don't have that kind of disposable income anymore and it's not gonna recover for a long time (if ever!!) For one I would rather drive a well built clone instead of the "real deal" cheaper and I can build it and drive it the way I want and not have any regrets about smashing a original up if ever in a accident, plus with a original car you really can't modify it any without worrying about destroying the value of it. So personally for me it's a no brainer clone all the way....  :Twocents:

Well, I'll buy either of your clones for $100K each, cash, sight unseen.    I'll pay you in 'clone' money.

You guys shouldn't have a problem with that, since clones are so great.   LOL !!
