Sorry to go off base but I thought it was a good opportunity to say hi to Rick and Sherri, hope you both are doing well. I sent you a PM a couple weeks ago but no reply back. If all goes well hope to see ya at the Brickyard.

Take care,

WINGR/Steve

Jim Walton lives in Burlington Ky - about 4 miles west of me actually.
Rick (talkiemopar) lives in Richwood ( just north of Walton Ky )

In the video link with the Petty Blue Bird,,,it's a real bird , just no vinyl top and is 426 Hemi powered 4 spd and 2.94 suregrip axle . It sucks stop light to stoplight - but open it up on the hiway and hang on.

Car was built by/formerly owned by and  Jim bought it from  - Marvin Hughes in Florida

And yes most of the cars on Jims place are slowly returning to mother earth, all the good cars are long gone/sold off years ago. But he still has the above bird and a real deal  Hemi Bird , limelight 4 spd along with a real LO23 Hemi dart

It's not just about horse racing, bourbon and coal mines, it's wing cars and Hemis and all kinds of cool stuff.

Wow you guys are bringing up some old memories! I am the guy who is talking and laughing in the video. Jim has been a friend of mine since I was 17 years old. He is one of the first guys I met in the wing car hobby in 1982. He is a super cool guy and had all kinds of Hemi and wing cars. He sold a Daytona 4spd car to a friend in Cinncinnati. A Petty Blue six pac bird went to Michigan. He bought a yellow Charger 500 I remember for $1200 that I was trying to buy from him.

Correct

Jim Walton (I thought it was Hebron, but Burlington works as well).

Mopar grave yard.

Had a hemi bird and petty bird that was his keepers.

Also had an AFX car at one time.

Also had a nice Chrysler (maybe a Newport) convertible with a factory big block that he used for a cruiser.

Everything else was rust and rough.  A good spot to get some chrome trim or section out something usable.

Don't know current state

Jim had a 440 6 PAC Oarnge bird that now belongs to a friend of mine in Cinncinati. I remember the day he bought that car. It was like $4200. Be nice to find one now that price:)

talkiemopar

I have the yellow 500.The real color is r6 red.  Rick.

Had a hemi bird and petty bird that was his keepers.  Still has them both. Just the petty blue bird is in pieces with the body shell is in the Detroit area,,supposedly to get dipped and all the metal work done

Also had an AFX car at one time.  I think he still has it, but not 100% sure

Also had a nice Chrysler (maybe a Newport) convertible with a factory big block that he used for a cruiser.

He also has an orginal Hemi dart that came out of Sabina Ohio

Heh there, buddy! Yes, I still have all three of them. I'd love to put my Hemi bird together, and I may, soon. It's just a matter of taking the time to do it. I run around a lot chasing trucks for my mom and pop car lot, doesn't leave me much time. I'd love to see you sometime. I get up around Philly a couple times per year, I may swing over and drop in for a visit. That would be fun. Take care now!

Anyway you can ask Jim walton or unless you know car craft magazine visited jim what year and month car craft magazine was it in.Thanks Dave

Which Daytona ?
as far as I know Jim only had 3 of them. I bought one - was red with black interior , 440 auto  ( sold it a couple years later ) and
another one that was B5 blue , black interior 440 4spd.  I know where that one is now in Maryland I believe

3rd one was green car painted black but still with green interior, 4spd car,,,,,, I think.?????  ( as far as I know that one is still owned by same guy )

nascarxx29

I dont know where benny got it but it checks back in club records to a Tony Waters.F6 4 speed I seen it.
Bill do you know when car craft magazine month and year visited Jim Waltons .I had that magazine and lost track of it.And shows the cars on the property
