Very sad news  , I just got this message

Hi Stuart,

Sue George called (a little while ago) to tell us this sad news.

Sue said that Ed got up about 4:30 a.m. this morning to use the restroom and
he collapsed. Sue called 911 and got the first responders to come and they
revived Ed. He may have had another heart attack soon after that. The ambulance
took Ed to the hospital, and they continued to work on Ed another 1/2 hour but
could not revive him this time. Sue sounded so strong on the telephone.

This sad news is just too unbelievable for us!

Sue said that there will be a cremation. And the service will probably be sometime
after Tuesday.

We thought you would want to know.

I'm in a real funk over this.  I just saw him last week.

He was talking about how difficult it was taking care of their parents, and how much running around they had to do.  That's even more stress on Sue now.

moparchris

I'm in a state of shock.  We were just sitting with Sue and Ed last week on the train ride in Colorado.  What a great guy.  Our prayers go out to Sue and family.  RIP

Ed was a good person.    I did not see him often, but when we did, we always talked about the good old days.   I am shocked to hear the news and will be thinking of him and Sue.

So sorry to heat this news, my prayers are with Sue

    I just had a long cry .  I talked to sue and He had not felt right out in colorado but had just thought it was the fires, smoke ,and the altitude .
Then yesterday they had done some yard work and he was using a post hole digger and didnt feel welll.  They had just chalked it up to the heat .  He sat down and after a while was still not
feeling back to normal .  They grilled out in the back yard . Ate dinner and he ate fine , then they had some ice cream chatted and he played on his lap top for awhile .  He promised to see the doctor this coming week before they headed off for a concert in branson missouri next friday.  They went to bed around midnight and he was tossing and turning and not sleeping well.  She said he got up to goto the bathroom around 4 am and she heard a giant thud in the living room .  She got the ambulance called and they got there almost immediately . She said they worked on him and got him to the hostpital but he never did ever come around .    :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

I'm also very sad to hear this terrible news, as we all know Ed is a great guy and him and Sue we're a big help in getting me in the Aero Car world several years ago. They are both in our prayers.

I just can't believe it. Never could have fathomed that the meet in Branson would be the last time that we would talk.  My heart goes out to Sue. There will be special prayers for her tonight.

Very sad news...   My sympathy goes out to the entire George family.
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Ghoste

Very sad, the two of them have done so much to keep the aero cars and just intermediate bodied Mopars in general organized it defies description.  It seems easy now in the internet age but they were true pioneers in the Mopar hobby from the club perspective.

I am shocked and saddened by Ed's passing, he was truly such a gentle and kind person.

May the peace of the Lord comfort Sue, and all of Ed's family and friends in this time of great loss.

just got this note from sue about the services

Thanks to you all for your compassion and support. It's been a great comfort to me to have you all as friends during this time. I didn't really want to send this in a group-email; I would rather talk to you each personally but I am overwhelmed with everything I have left to do and trying to visit my dad every day who is still in the hospital. I was completely unprepared to lose my life partner so unexpectedly and it's been a real struggle to carry on the last two days. Ed's funeral service will take place at the Central Christian Church, 803 Greene Street, Boone, IA on Thursday, July 12. Visitation will be from 11 am until 1:00 pm when the service will begin. Afterwards there will be a luncheon served at the church.

Some of the saddest news I've heard in a while, for sure.  I wish I could attend the funeral, as Ed was a tremendous asset to our hobby -- and Sue deserves our support during what has to be one of the toughest tasks for a person to endure on this earth.

Sue and Ed had an V2 Daytona I believe with white interior and wing... Anyone, is that correct?

Sue and Ed had several wing cars over time.    I think she has at least one Superbird and the Daytona.

I just re-read Stuart's initial post, and that Ed may have had some re-occuring symptoms recently.     As some of you know, I am a cardiac patient, as was my late brother.  It runs in my family.  In fact, the last time I spoke to Ed in Branson, we talked about health stuff.     Anyway, I know it is sometimes easy to rationalize how you feel when you don't feel just right.  I have made some judgement calls myself.   But, I will tell you what they tell me.   If you don't feel right, go to the ER.     Do not mess around.   It is better to find out it is nothing, than the alternative.   If there is something wrong, they will find it pretty quick.    I am not suggesting to be gun shy, but if you find that you are short of breath or have chest pain, and it does not go away, please do not ignore it.
