The man who owned it before CAMopars lived in MO, he belonged it HPAC HIGE PERFORMANCE AUTO CLUB outa KC. IT was at the meets annual show in KC last year before it sold on e-bay for $124.000 i think. Some thing is wrong hear, it had AC on in KC even the dash frame was changed. Now look at the pics, NO AC. I spoke with the past owner and he told me that the car was vary ruff when he got it-bad rust. Hope it is not a rebody!.Buyer be ware.   JR. :icon_smile_cool:

The car looks to still have the A/C hole in the firewall in the new Ebay pics.

Edit: After looking closer that may just be the heater core hole for non A/C. I will look for some pics of a A/C firewall.

I agree - comparing it to my firewall - I don't even see the heater blower motor nor the hole for it..
There's no hole for the control valve, either.

Is that picture even of an aerocar. I can't make it out very clearly, but it doesn't look like it's got the rear window plug in it.. Looks like the original rear pillars are still visible....

I think dodgecharger-fan was only posting a shot of an A/C firewall, not necessarily an Aerocar A/C firewall.  Good eyes though!

I thought that the Daytona's sold to the public didn't have the hole cut in the fender for the scoop.  I guess that isn't true?

Nope,, unlike the later Superbirds, the Daytonas actually had the cutouts and screen......

Daytona's did have the hole, Superbirds did not.

The hole might be great for on the track, but you can mess up a nice paint job with rocks, mud, debris that flies through that screen.  Some guys will stuff a sponge in the scoop while cruising to keep the crud from chipping the paint on the fender.

*edit* Yeah, what Troy said!!!...   :P

i like that color. it's unusual

I've always liked how people put spounges in the scoops on their daytona's. Its kind of funny when you notice at a show that they removed 1 of them but forgot about the other one.

chargervert

On my car, I am going to mask out the top of the fender, and use pin stripe tape to mask off the pattern of the screen, then use matte black paint to make a screen like appearance under the scoop, and when I remove the tape, it will apprear to be screen, but will only be paint, this will keep the dirt off the fenders, and look correct if anyone looks under the scoop!

haueter66

couldn't you apply something black to the underside of the vent to cover it but keep the appearance?

That is almost exactly what I did. Good idea Vert.

I was going to say to go ahead and cut the hole, and put in the screen, but attach something to the inner fender to cover up the hole. So it would be there, but something could act as a barrier for the dirt and debris.

This is car 414635 I saw 10 years ago in Montreal before it was sold to a guy in western Ontario who then sold it to someone in the US.These are not the pics I took of the car but it is the car.Car was VERY rough with no motor or trans but it did come with the fender tag.The wing in the pic is not white but raw aluminum.

65Post,

I believe it is the same car as the Bronze one being advertised now.

The white car is not the same car however. The white car got thrown into the mix by a mistake I made in the last thread, I put in the wrong VIN by the shipment list.
