1996 or so. The is the B5 4-spd 440 I bought from Volo Auto Museum.

Probably 1988. Working on my first bird. B5 440-4 727 repainted to Petty blue. Horst Kwech's 1970's SCCA touring (tons of decals) refrigerator in background.

I met Horst Kwech at an Alfa club dinner in Milwaukee about ten years ago.  He was the guest speaker.

i can't find them at the moment, but i took some photos of this one at the 1983 car craft street machine nationals in springfield, illinois, including one of the hand printed sign in the window that read

"no she's not finished, but at least the bitch is here"

 The block has a casting date of November 68, that is a bunch earlier than my Daytonas 5-69 date. Mine has a SPD of 6 05 69, and is the # block. And they show it is # matching.   Wingman

I had history of the car dating back to the late-80s. The previous owner was a personal friend & he never touched the engine. I talked with owner before him in Washington state who did it over the first time. I've seen phony stamped numbers and the ones on that block looked pretty legit to me.
