Is it pentastar or penstar?

I always thought the little passenger's side fender emblem was called a pentastar (penta = 5, ie., pentagram, pentagon) or a star with five points, but every once in a while I see someone say or write penstar. I can explain the first option but penstar makes no sense to me. Is it a nickname, a mispronunciation, correct?

I knew it represented the original five divisions but I could only think of four of the five. Until now I don't recall ever hearing of Fargo.

Apparently Fargo was once Chrysler's line of commercial trucks, probably just in Canada:

thanks bull  , intresting , in one paragraph it said how old  GM car from the 60's early 70's  were so expensive  in TURKEY and  don't even think about old Chrysler cars. it makes you wonder how many rare mopers are sitting un discovered around the world ,example  that red daytona in Iran a few years back.

I just learned that the pentastar emblem came out after DeSoto went belly-up so DeSoto couldn't have been represented by one of the points on the star. http://www.allpar.com/history/logos.html
