OUCH

That baby is crispy. If he says it needs frame rails i imagine the torsion bar member must be long gone too.

Wonder if there is a tag or b/s ?

10k hmm

Looks like this one and that Daytona outside the shed were having a race to the death...literally.

Both are restorable imho. All it takes is dedication, lots of time and wheelbarrows of cash.

Oh c'mon, thats just like my old one.  $20,000 later in sheetmetal and you're close to paint!  :icon_smile_big:

Unless this was previously owned by Elvis, anyone getting involved with this is nuts.  You can get a fully restored 500 nowadays for half the money you will sink into this.
too many to list!

That looks to be in about the same shape as the Daytona that is in my shop now. The Daytona was justifiable, barley, but you would really have to be in love with this car to go through the stress and money involved. I would like to find a 500 project but even having the skills and shop available I would not consider this one for free.

I would take it for free.  Do the minimum to get it road worthy, and just drive it as is..  :2thumbs:

Don't fret guys....in 5 years it will be at Barrett-Jackson as a stellar low-mileage all original car.  :yesnod:

:smilielol: :smilielol: :eek2: Your right, been off the road a long time so I imagine it is a low mile car :smilielol: :smilielol: :slap:

I like the idea above as it is so rusty, make it driveable and have fun in a crusty old rare car or alternatively restore it on the cheap like a person would in 1984 with bondo, do a cheap paint and drive a rare car (it sounds like it is fairly complete except no fender tag/no bld sht).  Agreed looks likes deep deep money pit if sheet metal done "correctly/to full replacement levels".

It is a rolling "buildable" 500 for cheap, 10k for a real titled 500.  :scratchchin::Twocents:

yeahup :popcrn:   I imagine a shark or someone wanting a aero car for cheap will find this car soon and endover restoring it on themselves.  Basically the same topic that a guy would buy a builder Daytona for 2/3 cost of what a nice done one is "worth".   :Twocents:

charger_fan_4ever

For sure this car will remain a project the rest of its life. Just shift hands to the "new" owners that are green enough to think they can have it redone from the ground up for $20k.

red69superbee

the car you put on there from cars in barns is mine. Thats what it looked like when i saw it and bought it.
