Well , now that i have the bird back from Mike Mancini's with the NOS nose installed and painted im truly afraid to drive the car anymore.  :eek2: The nose crunching incident last summer was a horrible experience for me to deal with, i was sick. :puke: The good thing that came out of it is that i now have a perfect NOS nose on the car with no filler in it, :2thumbs: my original nose had some filler skimmed over it in places.Yes, I'm the guy that would bust on everyones balls for not ever driving and enjoying their cars, rare or not my motto was "what is the point in having something if you can't enjoy / drive it." but i think now i know why they don't drive them. :scratchchin: I think for now we may put it in long term storage. :-\

moparstuart

just send it to me , I'll be sure it gets exercised regularly

thats why you have insurance , if your to afraid to drive it just sell it off   :icon_smile_big: :Twocents: :nana:

That's partly the reason I sold my Daytona. When there's more worry than fun, is it worth it to have?

GOTWING

maybe it's like a bad relationship, may take some time to get over it, ::) and then get right back out there :-\

I feel the same way too, have only taken it out twice, I know something is going to happen to that nose that makes me sick.  I have no qualms driving my 69 Hemi, but this damn thing  just sticks out so far and I know something is going to happen sooner or later.  Like you said thats is why you have insurance, but it will still make me sick to see it all busted up, should have bought a Hemi Cuda.
too many to list!

Stuart you know the car well enough, what do you think it's worth in todays market :eek2:

Well there was that number's matching FY1 440 column auto with similar mileage and a I nice resto that sold on E-bay after a 2nd auction for about $88K .
Is the exterior of yours white? Wasn't sure based on your description.

WINGIN IT

So EK2 with white bench? That's a real nice color combo. I think $90K is about right given the right buyer

I'll trade ya beater REAL XX29...... You'll have the best of both worlds........... A real aero (Dodge this time) and something that give you peace of mind when driving it. Heck, I even slap my magnetic garage light on the fenders for storage ( it won't hurt the primer on the front fenders ).... Come on... You know you wanna......  :icon_smile_big:

Wow, that picture is class! Look at those collars! How about replacing the new nose with a glass nose? Put metal nose on the workshop wall as 'art', drive car and enjoy... If I was in the fortunate position to own a wing car I think that is what I would do.

nascarxx29

I agree drive with expendable glass nose .Shelf the NOS one safely in garage

They're just cars. They can be built and rebuilt. I build, rebuild, cut up, fix and race everything I own. I have sheetmetal if I put one in the wall and know a good paint guy to put the paint back to show quality. Maybe you should've bought a repop nose and not worried about driving it. Having that car and not driving it the true shame.

62 Max

About 500mi last year,if it has to sit in the garage,I don't need it !!

nvrbdn

i agree. if you dont drive it, why have it unless you own a museum. :scratchchin:  guess i should either get mine out next year, or deal it off too. its time to do it. :yesnod:

Understand the feeling.

I never had a problem with a show only rig. For some.....just the having.....can be huge. For some, preserving history is big. It's their car, enjoy as suits them.

I do NOT judge others motivations for owning.

But that is not me. I will need to drive it. Often. For me, a repo nose is not enough. I would be much happier just driving something that is more or less replaceable.

JMHO.....less worry=more fun.

Last thought.....it really is NOT the $$$. On weekends I am at my lady's....she lives in one of the more affluent parts of my state. I see 50-70k cars/suvs often....as daily drivers. But easily replaced.

Of course if I ever hit a lottery......

I'd have an original kept safe......and a clone to drive. Best of both worlds.

GOTWING

WOW, nascar XX29 did that car get parted out i guess?? that's sick. :eek2:
