I am going to buy a "running when removed" 73 440 4V with a cast crank (ID pad reads J440 /5   2      E), for $300. The engine is missing the distributor, the brackets that should be on the front of the engine, and everything that attaches to those brackets. The only thing on the front of the engine is the pulleys on the crank, and the water pump housing. The guy that I am buying the engine from also has a running 413 2V (still in the 64 New Port, sounds nice). He offered anything I wanted off of the 413 to complete the 440. My question is what can I use off of the 413? I also have a 318 (to be replaced by the 440, and 727 when I find one), with PS, and AC. Can I use anything off of the 318?

413 and 440 are both RB blocks. same size and stroke. different bore. everything as far I know is interchangeable except pistons. 413 is steel forged crank, 73 440 is cast iron, so 413 is stronger.

318 is a completelly different engine... is a LA engine... except if is a poly 318 ( 66 and earliers ) which is an A engine.
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html
