:-\ Ok, so i'm in the process of looking for an engine for my duster, and i have some questions and need advice as to what you guys'n'girls think of them...

ok, so i found this

http://www.craigslist.org/pen/pts/137606375.html

and i really want a 340 for it, but i wanted to know A: is that a good price for just a block?
B: if not, whats the "going price" for one?
C: how hard is it really going to be to find everything else i need for it?

and then this one too:
http://sacramento.craigslist.org/pts/138270877.html

what do you think of this? is this a good buy?

Oh, and this guy i know told me that i could make a 340 with a 318 block by just boring it out... is this true?

and whats the differences between 273s 318s 340s and 360s bore and stroke?

can i make a 340 out of a 360 with a 273 crank?

THANK YOU!!! <3<3<3

is there any reason why you want a 340? i would just drop in a 360, would be cheaper and youde have 20 more cubes.

dusterxhorrorx

honestly,i want a 340 mainly because i kind of want to make it a duster 340 clone.

is_it_EVER_done?

Use a 340 pie tin on top of a 360 and you can have the best of both worlds, a car that will out perform a "real" 340, produce much more torque, and yet cost a fraction of finding and building a "real" 340.

if you have the money...you could stroke a 340. that will give you some torque  :icon_smile_big:

Texasacres.com   has a complete 340 for sale that came from a wrecked "cuda.   Which appears in the photos to be fairly fresh.  There are photos  in the engine, drivetrain section of their website!!!...let me know what you think.   It even shows the casting numbers too!!!

340 engine with 360 crank :D... as far I know 373 engine with LOOOOOOT of power and lighter.

A friend of mine here done that on his 70 cuda
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html
