I think its the contrast between black valance and the plated tank......the half seam is about 1 below the valance, that's where mine sits approx, I've got NOS qtrs, NOS tail panel, and NOS valance on the rear

I tried to buy the real yellow Daytona around 05-06. They wanted $75,000 for it. I did not think that it had the original 440. The owner seemed to be nice, but the guy that had the car at his shop was a A-hole. Oh well, lets see what it goes for after the Hodge restoration. :popcrn:

Saw the black clone being worked on about a year ago while buying some parts off a guy up in Troutman, N.C. At that time I believe they were in the process of replacing the motor. The nose was off and at that time there were no headlights or actuators in it. If they are asking $110,000.00 I would assume they got and installed all that stuff at that time. I also remember that the casting on the upper section of the wing was a little rough. That's all that jumped out at me at the time.

That black clone was recently on ebay and didn't get much for bids..
4spd with 8 3/4 rear.. hmmm...

Does anyone know whether the black Daytona clone sold at auction on Nov. 2nd?   The anticipated sale price was $90 - 110K in the auction literature.

Aero426

The clone is not listed as "sold".

Histoy, you got about 10 x the car vs. the black one.   :yesnod:

Thanks 472 R/T SE.   Brian did a outstanding job when he built this Daytona, and we are having a great time driving it.  I was curious to see what the black one sold for so that I could give the info to our insurance company for comparison purposes.  There have been several Daytona clones for sale in the last few months and each is priced differently.  This particular one had a Hemi, so I was hoping that it would sell for the range listed in their sales catalog.

Anyone know the sale price of the yellow daytona? :shruggy:

$136k, I believe.  That number probably includes the commission paid by the buyer.

Thought the Yellow Daytona was listed this week for $179,900. Sold again?

As much as I hate saying it, only because I've seen rigs' sell below market.  Most recently I had the chance to pick up a '69 GTX, real Hemi car for $50k, but...'it takes money to make money'.

Aero426

Regarding the sale and/or resale of the yellow car, it's hard to say whether the numbers being published are real or not.    When it is your own site and you are doing the reporting for yourself, you can throw anything at the wall and hope it sticks.

If a 69 Hemi GTX is for sale I am sure Bill Alphin would be interested. If memory serves right that is his dream car
