I have read a few postings about guys buying Painless wiring kits.  I figured I would say this and maybe save someone a few dollars.
When I was getting ready to rewire my '40, I came across EZ Wire. They make universal wiring kits. I got the 21 circuit with black wiring. I know that most guys want plug and play, but if you are wanting to use a universal, EZ was a bit lower than the cost of painless. Every wire is labeled every foot (or 6"?) so figuring out why I what was beyond simple. It comes with the sections separated to keep it easy, front/rear/dash/engine.
As I said, I got all black wiring. It helps keep it looking clean, especially under the dash. If this will help even one person save some money, it was worth the time to type it.
