Had a wonderful conversation with a gentleman from CA who has studio connections and has incredible news. He needed A-pillar trim as well as hinges for Daytona . I will say no more and let him tell you what's going on  . His name is Marc and PLEASE make him part of our family , and help him , I did .

Why doesn't he just sign on without telling us who he is?  Seems easier to me and then folks wouldn't go crazy each time he posts like with KWS. (not everybody just some)

Maybe the "soon" was like when we were 16 and asked the parents or the keys. Mine would always say. "Soon enough you will have your own car."
Which happened a year later when I had saved up enough of my own money to buy one.

Marc Irvin

Hello Guys, Marc Irvin here, one of the 3 partners in RPM Productions LLC and one of the directors of a movie in preproduction that goes by the name "Winged Warriors".  Sorry for such a late response, but we have been extremely busy. I was here at my shop last night until 11pm, working on the car, here with Pat Mckinney, the other director of this project.  Pat is known for building the Bobby Alison #22 Nascar Daytona that the world seems to think was really Bobbys car!  He also just restored and sold Richard Pettys 71 Nascar road runner. Plus until recently his show winning weekend driver was a 440+6, stick, Superbird.  My background can be found on IMDB or check out Marc's Creature Co inc. Not to mention, I have restored quite a number of Mopars, over the past 25 years I have earned 8 first place trophies in "E" body stock , plus several in "B" body stock, at the west coast largest show, the Spring Fling. Our 3rd partner is Ray Griggs, whom brings to the table an extensive back ground in film production.  We have 2 weeks to build the outside of the #88 engineering car!  Yes, it will just be a pusher, at this time.  We are shooting a teaser trailer on the 17th of February! And , yes I am here today, Sunday, turning 70 Charger fenders into Nascar Daytona fenders!

Ghoste

Welcome Marc, always good to have new members here.  The "Winged Warriors" film, are you allowed to say any more about it?

Welcome aboard!  Sounds like a very cool show! Look forward to it for sure!   :2thumbs:

Gotta love the film industry.  They always expect cars to get built so quickly it defies the laws of physics.

(Would it really have been so difficult to give a month or two's notice on this?  Was that really such a problem?  Did they really have no idea they would be asking for the #88 mockup 15 days ago?)

---------------------------------------------

Having said that, I'd love to see the #88 being recreated with the top & sides of the body appropriately lowered on the undercarriage, not just a stock production Charger unibody with a cage & paint.  It's the only way to get the stance those cars originally had.

Tons of NASCAR replicas have been built from street cars over the years and they are invariably given away by the stance being too high.  Either that or the ground clearance has been rendered so low getting the body down that the car becomes impractical to drive.

I guess that's not absolutely necessary if you're just building a "pusher" but it would be more important if you end up cloning the #88 in fully operational form.
