Getting near to the finish line & ran into a snag with these housings. Evidently there is some type of chrome tape that looks to have been heat shrunk onto the plastic housing back at the factory. As, those who have this car knows how that chrome is cracking, lifting & peeling at this point in time. I spoke with Paul's chrome in Butler, PA. & he does re-chrome on plastic. Question is, how the hell does this housing come apart??? The wiring harness seems to have been pressed into place & I'm reluctant to pull, twist or pry on it. With this being said, I'm not able to have the housings dipped at the re-chromer for fear of damaging harness. Alternatively, I've thought of chrome paint, kinda prefer the real deal though, thanks for any input fellas.

Went through that with mine before assembly. I had emailed a few plastic chrome places for prices.  Al quite a bit I might add.  But the ones who said they could do it said they would basicly shrink wrap the sockets after removing the wiring, them chrome the entire thing.
The others said they could remove them with a special tool (???) and repress them in.
How much you say? Anywhere from mid 4's to $600.
I ended up putting my old (not perfect but OK) ones back in.  Thing is if I ever do have these done or find nice ones, the bumper has to come off again to install.
BTW, are the tabs in tact?  Mine were all broken and if you would like to see my fix they are here:

But for $600, I'll hold out for NOS ones.

Bob, Paul's  gave me a price of $175 apiece, that's before I realized the harness doesn't come out. At any rate, I sent them new pictures & will call on Monday to see if they can just "dip" the front without submersing the whole fixture. Just one of the tabs on mine were broken, I epoxied it hoping that will hold up, btw, those deck lid emblems came out gorgeous. Custom Cast & Chrome did a real nice job & I dupli colored them witha few coats of trim paint, came out sharp!  Thanks again.
