I would like to put 69 through 70 tail lights on my 73 charger. I was wondering if anyone has done this,if they will fit or how much fab work would be needed? Thank you

I've never seen it but anything can be done if you are determined enough.  I think there would be a fair amount of fabbing to do it but it could be done.

You would almost have to start with a 69 70 tail light pannel because that are not flat
They have an arc to them from the top to the bottom

Well shoot sounds like I just need to find the 72 lights that are similar to the 69's.

That might be a start, still some tin banging to make 'em work.

ive never checked, but what is the measurement inside the wrap around bumper? i am assuming that you are talking mounting the lights inside the bumper rather than replacing the entire rear panel and going with a 69/70 style rear bumper?

if it would be able to be inserted into the existing bumper, could be pretty cool look.

Yes I want to insert them inside my 73 bumper. Remove lights I have and put 69 lights in place. 69 lights are bad ace IMO

You know, you could just get a 69.  The entire car is badass and you would get the full effect.  :yesnod: :icon_smile_big:

Believe me if I could find one I would trade my 73 in a heartbeat!!! I am die hard 69 fan!!!

I am not sure if there is enough room for the lights and your licence plate over you gas cap

I need to get my measurements and see if I can get someone with a 69 measure there's for me and see how it matches up or if it even close..

haveing both in hands once... yes is posible... will need to build a filler panel into the bumper opening...

just my doubts about the opening left to the gas filler tube... MAYBE is tight and will need to make a custom job there and relocate the license plate

I like the idea, but with the loop bumper, I just don't know if it will look right.
Reminds me when Danny on Counting Cars put 68 Shelby taillights in a 73 Mustang... it turned out good!
