TUFCAT

dontcha think it should've been cleaned and detailed - just a bit?  :shruggy:  I wouldn't keep a bird like that.

Yah, you're right, it should be better detailed for a sale. The front fenders have been molded into the nose cone as well and it looks like the nose has been dented as well.

Vinyl Top MIA
Idling at 3,000 RPM but temp gauge shows cold-what's up with that I wonder?

Redbird

Actually to me it seems like one of the more directly presented cars that have been for sale for a while.

Back in the day lots of cars had vinyl tops removed and a leaded in nose cone. Dent in the nose, he says that in the description. Wouldn't be deal breakers for a driver. I get that a full on restoration would put the buyer upside down.

The rust under the door gets to some of the real questions that might be asked.

It does not seem to be a "metal-free" car where the only thing of value is the tags.

What it really reminds me of is what one would see as a kind of typical used car Superbird one would see about 1975. Which to me is the charm of it.

I agree. Seems to be presented more honestly than the ones that have recently surfaced. Better pictures would really help his cause though. Seems the price is right too if the reserve isn't much higher than the starting bid, now before you filet me for that statement hear me out. Obviously the car needs to be restored to be right, but a guy could conceivably buy this thing and paint it for 10k (that is if there isn't too much rust repair) and drive the wheels off it. I am in the market for a bird but I am resisting these cars because it doesn't make financial sense. If I were to buy this car I would end up doing a five year rottiserie resto on it and sink about 30k into it. So if I were to pay 80 for it then I would be in it for a total of 110k (plus about 750 hours of sweat equity) and thats if I don't run into big time rust issues. Or I could pay 125k for a nice done 440 4 speed one and drive off into the sunset tomorrow.
