Yes, been up before and he's tried and tried to sell that  :Twocents:. There's only one buyer that would possibly want it, but I hope that they found a second build sheet in the car !

Personally I'd give it to the owner and wish them a Merry Christmas!   :yesnod:

maybe the $1750 is a deterrent for the non-owner to buy it, or at least his buddy won't buy it for a couple hundred & sell it to the owner for $2K!!  :eek2:

Redbird

I am not convinced that anyone involved with this is Vermin.

To me, demonizing someone else for reasons such as "my opinion is morally superior to yours", only breeds anger.

As I see it, at this point when most everyone that has a Daytona, 6bbl Superbird, or 999 wing car firmly believes their car is worth $175K; it is now business transactions for many.

I liked cars more when winged cars were $2K hobbies. One could get a car painted for $250. I don't get to choose when a friendly transaction turns into a business.

Someone that had a Daytona wanted some NOS winged car parts I had a few years ago. I knew full well that he wanted NOS parts, because well... his car was worth a lot, he told me so. If I would have wanted to buy his car he would have wanted me to pay full boat to him. More power to him, if he sells his car I hope he gets a big price.

Smile easy, if it is a hobby for you-great, if for someone it is a business-lets hope they do well.

Anger is a bad deal for most everyone.

He should not mess with the universe's mojo.  He should give it to the owner and thereby make a deposit into his personal karma bank account.

even if he got beat up on his price when he sold it because he didn't have documentation?

At any price - It's still a hobby to me. It's all about helping others in the hobby. Gone out of my way more than a few times to re-unite people with broadcast sheets, original engines, transmissions etc. at zero profit to me....sometimes a loss. The appreciation of the owner is my reward. It's the right thing to do. Stuff born with a car belongs with that car. In the matter of paperwork - there is no reason ever to not try and reunite it with its car.

Agree 100%

Why would someone view others as Vermin-substantially less than human?

I would say, I don't care how many good deeds one has done, when you see others as Vermin-that speaks volumes as to character.

:2thumbs: :2thumbs:  Me too.---The word ransom comes to mind :shruggy: :eek2:  The only value possible is to the owner of the car.

Ebay ad. :slap:-----I used to own a woman and when we couldn't get along we split up.  After she was gone I found a dog that she loved that was left behind. That dog sucks and I don't want to feed it. The dog is up for sale/bid at $1800.
This is a good deal cause if you get the dog, that witch I split from may give you much more for it. If it doesn't sell to her than tough luck. You now have a dog that sucks and you have to feed it hoping to recover your money in case she changes her mind. :nana:

If a good/convenient lost and found site were established I see potential value for the hobby. Most folks are with us about helping each other but connecting needs to be easy. :Twocents:

I bought a 1967 gtx hemi car a few years ago it had a 1969 hemi out of a charger in it. the owner of the charger found out that I had his engine he asked me if I would swap for a 66 hemi that was totally new rebuilt I said I would swap him if he would dyno the engine and bring me the paper work on it. he did that and we swapped engines and now he has the matching engine in his car as mine was non matching anyways I thought what the heck no big deal the 66 was a better fit for me also. made a friend in the mopar business over it also.
